Coloration: Seal Point Arrival Story: My parents had to help their kitty over the bridge today(7/17/2008). His kidneys were failing. At 18 years old, he really didn't have any treatment options. He lived a good, long life and will be sorely missed.
Hydey-Ho-Leonardo, known to us as Hyde, came to live with us in 1992 after the Siamese cat I had grown up with passed away from diabetes. He was a registered pure-bred seal-point Himalayan. Very beautiful. His original owners were friends of my parents and had recently developed a severe allergy. Since we had just lost a beloved pet, the solution was obvious. Hyde came to live with us.
He was always a grumpy old man. He liked to crumple the bathroom rugs every time we flattened them. He liked to be around people, but only ever loved my dad. He would get up with him every morning and chat while he made coffee. His voice was something like an Ewok. Wish I had gotten a chance to record it.
He'd been losing a lot of weight recently. I picked him up while I was at their house on Saturday (7/12/2008) and told them they needed to take him to the vet. He couldn't have weighed a full 5 pounds and smelled ill. They knew I was right. I am so glad he isn't suffering, but it still breaks my heart. Bio: He was named by a little boy that really loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I've Been On Catster Since:
