Arrival Story:
As "RESCUED is my favorite breed", and as I always adopt another deserving cat in tribute to a loved one who's gone over the Rainbow Bridge, a nearby shelter was where I headed to adopt Corrie. Am I lucky!!! What a gorgeous, sweet treasure she is.

Bio:
The staffer at the shelter said Corrie and two other adult female cats had been surrendered two weeks before by a woman who claimed they were "strays"; but that they were skeptical, as the cats are all huge, extremely well-fed and loving, and obviously had known someone's loving care. I guess we will never know for sure, and I wish I could have adopted all three so that they would remain together, as cats DO form deep bonds. This being impossible, I pray Corrie's two sisters will get as good a loving, forever home, hopefully together, as she has. UPDATE: On 15th July, I lost my beloved father. That was also the day my angel Corrie started showing signs of being sick. By that Friday, we had to go to Emergency, where tests showed a very dire diagnosis. My bond with Corrie was unique and special, and I looked forward to having years and years of love with her. Tragically, it was not to be; and though I needed her so much, I had to put her before myself. She was only with us for a month and a half. FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS. SLEEP SWEETLY, BEAUTIFUL ANGEL CORRIE.

CORRIE:
When our "Lion King", Nicolas T. Cat, transcended on 24th May 2008, I knew he would want another deserving cat to be rescued and adopted into our family and given a forever, loving home as he was. As this area is (happily) not known for free-roaming cats, a friend and I went to our local shelter, but their Cat Coordinator was not on duty, so we were given a list of all area shelters and we chose one, where the first cat I chose was deemed "too shy to adopt out yet". I asked which cat would be the least likely to be adopted and was shown another in the group of three that came in together, one of whom was my first choice. The cat I was then shown and I had a little get-acquainted session, after which I adopted her and took her home. That was yesterday. Today I have had a chance to hold her in my lap, brush her, and get better acquainted -- and oh, WHAT A CAT!!! She is gorgeous, loving beyond words, and uniquely beautiful, looking like a cross between a bear, a bobcat, a Pallas cat and a Persian cat. She's obviously got a lot of Persian genes, and her torbie coat colors and pattern along with her huge round green eyes and moon-shaped Persian face just add to her irresisbility. At around 20 lbs. and between 5-6 years old, the staffer at the shelter didn't think she'd be really popular. Personally, I LOVE big, cuddly, loving ADULT cats. And she's already spayed! I know she is going to make a great addition to our family.
