Arrival Story:
We adopted Spike (one month younger) at the same time we adopted Priya. They were cage-mates at the city pound in Royal Oak, MI. See his personal web page created for him when he was Pet of the Week on Florida Pets Network: http://www.floridapets.net/catspik e.html He is an American shorthair brown tabby with some Bengal in him, which you can tell because of his pointy ears, the spots on his belly, and his dog-like personality.

We had to fight to keep our babies when we moved from our condo in Michigan to one down in south Florida. Because of all the trouble we went through, I founded Citizens FOR Pets in Condos, www.petsincondos.org. Our organization is a 501-c3 tax exempt private operating foundation dedicated to increasing acceptance of companion animals in condos and other types of association-run housing. We educate the public about the health benefits of having animal companions (not just cats). We also advocate for responsible pet ownership/guardianship. Our motto: "creating a win-win situation for both people & pets."
