Arrival Story:
I adopted Cleopatra from the Michigan Humane Society (Detroit Branch) on Saturday April 12,2008. When I went into the cat adoption room at the Humane Society there was a litter of nine kittens who had already been selected for adoption. When I went into the Humane Society I only knew that I wanted a female kitten, my father accompanied me and while I was looking through adoptions papers and ID numbers my father tapped my shoulder and said there she is that's the one. I told him that if she was a pending adoption we would not be able to get her, but to my surprise she was one of the last two kittens available for adoption. I held Cleopatra in the play room and at that point I agreed with my father because I knew she was the one. Cleo became apart of my family at 7 weeks old, so far she is adapting really well to the family and her new surroundings. Cleo weighed less than 2 pounds when we adopted her, she came into the Humane Society as a surrender. My family believes she was not being fed, because she is so tiny but she has gotten comfortable with us and is becoming a piglet ;o) I am so happy my father spotted Cleopatra, and very thankful that as we learn to get along with each other we will learn to love each other. I would have never imagined I would own a cat but now I can't imagine what it would be like without her as an addition to the family.
