Adopted!

Gee, life is exciting, isn't it? First our foster mommy left for a couple of weeks and we had a "pet sitter" take care of us. I would've told you earlier, but mommy took the computer with her, waaah! And then we barely got time to sit on her lap and purr her ears off after she got back before she had yet more strangers stop by the house. She told us they were going to be our new parents and they were here to pick us up. And then she put us into carriers. Ack! I sure tried to avoid it by hiding in the basement ceiling, but to no avail. She said we should be happy to have been adopted. Well, we'll see... right now it's still quite scary to be in a new place again with new people...

Where's the car?

Mommy was busy in the garage today, but things weren't quite right. It was all empty! Usually when mommy is home we get to play around the car and sit on it or in it. But today the car was gone and mommy was sweeping and moving stuff around and getting up on a ladder in the middle of the garage and fumbling around that box on the ceiling and screwing things to the walls. She spread out a piece of paper, so I had to go and try to hide underneath it. She said I was being silly and I wasn't allowed to rip it just yet, so she took it away from me. Apparently it was some sort of "instructions" for that thingy she screwed into the wall. She said it's called a keypad and you could open the garage door with it. I asked her how does it work and she said I was being too smart for my own good so she wouldn't tell me. No fair! And then she banished us into the house and closed the door and we could hear the garage door opening and closing a couple of times. I wanted to check things out so badly. Katie found the car then by looking out the front window. It was parked on the street. And then we watched as mommy went to the car and drove away. Whaaa! She could've at least left the garage door open for us so we could go explore what she did in there!

Gross Out Contest

And the winner is... me! I didn't even know we had a contest and I'm not sure why mommy would pick me, but I like to win anyway, hehe.

All I did this morning was to roll around in the litter before jumping into bed to wake her up for breakfast. Not only did I leave some litter in the bed, but I also managed to get some into her pajamas by crawling under the blankets and cuddling with her. I have the nagging suspicion she does not appreciate having cat litter in her bed. She pulled all the bedding off and started the washer. Oh well, wash day is always a fun day because I get to play with lots of water and jump into laundry baskets and pull 0ver the drying racks!

And then I jumped up on her lap when she went to the bathroom this morning. She said I'm impossible and should at least have the decency to wait until she's off "The Throne" again. I have to ask... why? This way I'm already in a prime position for the flush-n-fish game. This morning I actually managed to catch the paper, yeay! And ouuuh, it was all soggy. But mommy took it away from me again before I could drag it out of the bathroom and then she flushed it again, but this time with the lid closed. No fair!

And then I settled onto the kitchen counter to wash myself while mommy was preparing breakfast. I did a really thorough wash. Mommy laughed at me and said I should've done that when I got here and she wouldn't have needed the vet to tell her that I'm male. So I just grinned stupidly and tried to give her a kiss, but for some reason she didn't want a kiss from me right then.

Oh well. I'm off to the basement again to fumble with that food machine. I managed to turn it on its head last night, but sadly wasn't successful in opening the kibble reservoir yet. I'm sure there's a way to do it, I just need to figure out how.

Mrrwaaah!

This is sooo humiliating! I was laughing at Mikesch earlier when mommy clipped his nails. There was no way she'd do that to me, I thought. Well... arrrrgh... she just did! I tried my best, but I couldn't help it! She squeezed me under her arm against the back of the sofa and ~snipsnipsnip~ ....mrrroooowww... now Mikesch and I can feel sorry for ourselves together...

Hmmm...

Sooo... mommy put this thing in the basement today. It's full of food, I can see it. There's this whole jar of food right in front of my nose. I just haven't figured out yet how to get it out. Apparently mommy presses a button and it starts kibbling. But there's this stupid locking cover that goes over the buttons and I can't seem to lift it. Hmmm... will have to meditate over this for a while. I'm sure there's a way to get the food out, somehow...

Uh-oh, I think I'm in trouble...

We were playing hide-and-seek again after dinner. Mikesch and Katie are really good at this, too, but I'm the best. Mikesch isn't the only one who can open cabinet doors around here, y'know? I hid in the cabinet underneath the bathroom sink first, but they found me and made such a ruckus opening and closing the doors that mommy came looking what we were doing. She just rolled her eyes at us and went back to work. So we moved on to a new playground in the kitchen. Kitchen cabinets are fun because they have all kinds of interesting stuff in them that you can climb around on and hide behind. Mikesch managed to get up into the one with the food stuff, but mommy heard us in the kitchen and came looking again and that was the end of his excursion into the realms of sugar, rice and elbow noodles. Then she found Katie underneath the kitchen sink looking for trash bags and that was the end of that, too. But she didn't find me! Tehe! I told ya, I'm the best at this game! It's as simple as closing the door behind you!

But eventually I got bored. I mean, there's not much to do once you're sitting among the tableware on the very top shelf in a china cabinet and nobody comes looking for you. So I thought I needed to give mommy a few hints where to look. I just tapped a bit at the coffee cups. I could hear her looking through the other cabinets, so I knew she was looking for me and kept perfectly still again. This was fun! And then she left the kitchen again and I knocked at the stack of saucers. And I could hear her in the kitchen again. Hehe! But then she found me. Uh-oh, game over. She closed the doors real quick again and told me to sit really still until she could get the ladder from the basement. Tsk, who needs a ladder? I don't. So I opened the doors again and jumped out. Unfortunately, those cups and saucers also jumped out with me and they don't know how to do a soft landing. It all made a very loud crash all over the kitchen counters and floor.

So mommy closed us all out of the kitchen then. I don't think she's happy with me right now.

Treats!

Finally mommy found some treats I like! It was about time. She's giving all the others kitty candy all the time, but I don't care much for it. But today, woohoo, she put this box next to the microwave and I could smell there was something special in there. So I knocked it off and kicked it around and tried to pry the lid off. She laughed and said I wasn't going to figure this one out. Just wait, mommy, just wait and see! But then she opened it and gave me some. She says it's freeze-dried chicken. Oh, sooo good! I had to guard it though because the others wanted some, too. But this was *mine*! ~GRRROWWWL~ Mommy laughed and said she never heard me growl like that before. It worked though. Even Mikesch stopped dead in his tracks and didn't dare take it away from me.

Woohoo!

Haha! I'm a daily diary pick! Yeay! Now I can brag back at Mikesch, who got that title before me, but he didn't get such a nice pressie for it! Check it out! Thanks, Princess Diana! I'll be rubbing that under his nose all day long, that's for sure.

Oh, and while I have everyfurry's attention, mommy tells me to tell you that I'm still adoptable. She's had a couple of people ask about me and my sister, but nobody has come forward to adopt us yet. I guess they all got scared off when she told them what a gorgeous and fun-loving and affectionate boy I am. It must be difficult to live with Mr. Purrfect and not feel like a loser. Hehe! She says I definitely can't deny the Bengal blood in me, whatever that means.

Locked in - again!

Mommy closed our window again last night. What a drag! She says it was too cold out there and freezing and snowing and we wouldn't enjoy sitting on our balcony. I don't believe her. I don't like that window closed! Ever!

She's a real party-pooper today. She was cooking dinner so of course I had to check it out and she picked me off the stove and said "no." And then she opened the fridge and of course I had to climb in there to smell the goodies and she picked me out again and said "no." And then she opened the china cabinet and of course I had to jump in there to investigate and again she picked me out and said "no." And then she put the food on the table and I jumped up there and... you probably guessed it... I got that "no" *again*! I'm not allowed to do anything fun around this house! So then I asked Mikesch and Katie whether they wanted to play tag and we chased each other through the basement. I also tried to invite that cat behind the mirror to join us. And then the whole mirror tipped and it came down and made a really loud crash and mommy said "NOOO!" She says we were lucky it did not shatter into a thousand tiny shards cutting up our paws. I'm not sure where that cat went. I haven't seen him again since mommy put the mirror away. To bad - he looked like he wanted to play! ~sigh~

And then mommy did a weird thing and locked herself in. And said we are not to disturb her until midnight. What?! What's that all about?

Cleaning Day

Well, I guess I protested strong enough against being taken for a car ride. Mommy went to the pet faire without me yesterday and just took some pictures and flyers. And she brought back a bag of goodies from the pet store. Oh yumm.

And then she started messing up the house. How fun and exciting! Mikesch and I had to supervise everything. She totally destroyed any semblance of order we had tried to put our toys in by picking them all up and throwing them in a box. Of course we helped her getting things back in order by picking them out of there again as soon as possible. She took our litter boxes and dumped the old litter and washed them and put new litter in. It smelled really good - I think she mixed some of that Cat Attract stuff in there. It smelled so good, I had to scoop some on the kitchen floor so I could roll in it and get it all over me. Then mommy moved all the furniture around and started vacuuming, so we had to supervise that. Binky and Katie, those panic kitties, went into hiding somewhere. And then mommy did laundry and of course Mikesch and I had to supervise that, too. And then mommy did the dishes, so I had to jump on her shoulder and watch. And she said, "Eeek! You're all wet!" And I purred, "Of course. I had to make sure the washer is draining correctly." And then Mikesch and I had a drink from the faucet and left our wet paw prints all over the freshly cleaned counters and kitchen floor. Ah, what an exciting and productive day!
