A Day In The Life Of Lily

It's Been A Rough Year

Hello to my fellow felines and there human companions. Just thought I'd let everyone know that it's been a bad year for me and I'd like to ask for your thoughts and prayers so that I can hopefully have a better year in 2010.

In Sept. I was hospitalized for 3 days with a case of acute pancreatitis. A month or so later I was hit with a case of IBS. I have skin condition that is causing sores all over my chest and abdomen and to top it all off my mommy went away for a couple of days this past week and when she came home she saw that the tip of my tail was torn open (not sure how I did this). So on Friday she took me to the vet where I had to have about one inch of my beautiful tail amputated.

She picked me up from there yesterday but unfortunately my return was short lived. I did not like the bandage that they had wrapped around my tail and so I bit it off (even though it made me scream and jump in pain) and next thing I knew mommy was screaming and trying to catch me as blood was dripping all over the place. She rushed me back to the vet and I had to stay another night (I was NOT happy about that).

I'm home now and hope to make a full recovery. Am also hoping that I will not see Dr. Gary (even though he's a very nice man) for quite a long time.

Rough Times

I know, it's been a long time since I've written but I have a good excuse. Things around here have been quite hectic ever since the new cousin arrived (that's the two legged one mentioned in my previous entry). Much to my surprise I like her!! Probably because she's a lot quieter then the 4 legged one (although I suspect that will change as she gets older), but for now I can tolerate her. Anyway, my Mommy was very busy spending time with Cousin Gianna and just a short while after her arrival my Grammy (my Mommy's Mom) took ill and unfortunately my dear, sweet Grammy died on July 9th. I really miss her, especially on weekends when all of us would have breakfast together. So between the baby arriving and Grammy's illness & subsequent passing life around had been turn upside down and is now for the first time in 3 months starting to return to normal (which I am very glad for as now I might get to spend more time with Mommy who was leaving me alone WAY too much!!).

Lament

Well my feline friends. It's been awhile since I last wrote as there hadn't been much to say, but now I need to vent as the past nearly two weeks of my life have been made miserable by that canine Lucy.

You see my Mommy and I live upstairs from my Grammy & Grampy and I love going downstairs to visit them on weekends when Mom is home from work. I have breakfast with them and they let my lie on the kitchen table, it's SO much fun!! But for more then a week now thad D-O-G has been living with Grammy & Grampy while her Mother & Father are in China adopting a baby. Several times I have headed down the stairs blissfully unaware that she is there only to either hear that hiddeous bark of hers or pick up her scent which results on my bolting right back upstairs to hide in Mommy's bed. I'm really quite annoyed by this disruption in my life and what's worse is she had had the unmitagited gall to come up here in to my territory and bark and lunge at me. She's just damn lucky that I haven't hauled off and whacked her on the big black nose of hers.

Anyway, I'm told she will be leaving soon and my life should return to normal although I'm getting the impression that I will soon have this new cousin with two legs to contend with soon in addition to Lucy's intrusions. Why me?
