Arrival Story: Malachi and Pandora were both adopted from the SPCA when my husband and I bought our house. He stuck his paw out of his cage to get my husband's attention. He had been a stray in another county, but for his loveable nature, you would think he's been ours forever.

Bio: Malachi is a biblical name, or so people tell me all the time. I just liked the name Malachi, which is how he got the name. Malachi loves paper bags, boxes and anything else that is smaller than him that he can squeeze into. He also likes having his eyes rubbed and will open his mouth if you do this. I call him Snaily because he meanders very slowly around the house unless something catches his eye, in which case, he is very fast.
When we adopted Thisbe, she had fleas, and this is when we discovered that Malachi was allergic. It started with a few red sores where his fur had fallen out and eventually he became patchy in many places, particularly around his neck. When he visited the vet, they discovered that he was allergic to fleas and needed to be on antibiotics for the infected sores and steroids for the allergy. Malachi had to receive two gigantic pills twice a day. This did not make him a very happy cat. To this day, if you pick him up, he struggles because he thinks you are going to give hm the pills.

I think I am an awfully nice looking cat. I mean, girl cats look at me through the window and my girl person is always saying how silky and soft my fur is when she brushes me. (She does also tell me that I am a little tubby, but I like my extra weight...makes me look distinguished.) For the last few days though, I have been thinking that having short fur or no fur would be better. I lay on my side, I lay on my back, I lay on the stone floor in the kitchen and in the foyer on the wood floor. No matter where I lay, I am SO HOT! My girl person let me go into the bedroom for a little while where it is really cool, but Loki is in there and he doesn't like to be around us for some reason. I only try to clean him, which every other cat likes, but not him. Frankly, I think he's the smartest of all of us pretending to be scared and ending up in the good room. Maybe I'll try some of my bad behavior and see if I get "punished".

After being dragged around to grandma's house every Sunday, we finally all live in a new house. I miss some of my hiding places in the old house, but the new house has such amazing possibilities! There are two sets of stairs! TWO! Since I love to chase Oliver up and down the stairs, these are perfect! And....there are so many more rooms! In our old house we had five rooms, not including our bathrooms. In the new house we have eleven rooms and I know that I haven't seen them all!
It's really cool to love in such a big house now because we all have lots of space to play and so many more places to hide! I can go all day and not see any other cats if I want to be alone. It's the best!
I hate being in the car and I was very upset when my people kept making me ride in the car all the time. The new house is worth all my misery riding in the car!

I am so happy that my girl person decided to put me up on Catster. I love having my picture taken and as you can see from some of my more glamourous shots, I'm quite photogenic. I can't understand why my people ever pay any attention to any cat but me. I certainly need to be the center of attention. With looks like that, who can wonder why?
