indoors Arrival Story: Autumn was reported to the Campus Police as an injured kitten running around the Admin Building lawn. NWAAA members discovered her running scared with an obvious injury to her right arm. They flushed her out of a bush, after her mother left her...and she was caught with a net. She was taken immediately to a Vet and Xrayed and vaccinated. No fractures were evident , so nerve damage was suspected. That was Oct 23, 2007. She went into foster care and was cared for and protected. On Dec 17th, after no improvement in her front leg, only more stiffness, her injured limb was removed. Bio: She of course does things a bit different with only one front limb...but she does fine. She hisses at us usually when we first approach her, but then purrs as soon as we touch her. We would not want her with children. A calm predictable life style is what she needs now. She will bite at times. She does not run from dogs, but tries to stand them off. If they are not watching her, she likes watching them. Her mother is Feral and still on Campus..but fixed.
Autumn got to sneaking downstairs to go out the cat door. So we let her go outside during the day, out front, and locked her inside at night. One evening she went in the back yard when the dogs were inside eating. When I let the dogs out they were shocked to see her in their yard and attacked her. She died soon after. She came wild and she went wild. We miss her. Forums Motto: Sweet and Pissy... I thought it would be cool to go sneaking around the dogs back yard. No cat I know has ever done that. They all stay in the front yard. While I was hanging out front one night, the basement window was open so I could go out and have some yard time, I got a notion to go out back... unfortunately it was the time when the dogs were let out to pee before bed! Oh shit. I got nailed by three of them at once. I don't think they even knew who they grabbed, they just attacked a critter in their territory...me! They let go as soon as "mom" heard the commontion, yelled out and ran out to save me. But it was to late. I had internal injuries, crushing breaks and puncture wounds. I fell asleep in the night and did not wake up in the same home. I'm somewhere else now, where I have four legs again, and I'm free to roam where ever I choose. Hope those dogs got in big trouble!
I really need a home with a very smart cat person in it. Someone to help me heal. I must miss my Mom? and maybe I'm mad that my leg got taken off? I don't know, but being pissy has become my way of behaving all the time. I do not show behavior that looks like joy. Course June Lee gets away with biting people and he's been here 10 yrs :) I suppose they'll put up with me here if they have to!
I was sad but glad to see the boys go. The next thing I new my room filed up with girls! little girls that drive me crazy are everywhere. Now we have Zelda a black kitten, Tommy Boots a grey and white kitten, and Lacy a long haired taby of browns and oranges. They are pretty girls for sure, but I guess I don't like the competition? They all come from different homesI'm mean to them and I bit Mom the other day. I bit her hard...four distinct teeth marks on both sides of her little wrist (I opened up real wide to get her good). I just didn't want to go into the carrier, because I knew she'd take me to the outside cage, where I'd be kept away from the little girls all day. It's supposed to be a break for all of us from each other during the day, but I don't like to be the one to go outside..let the little ones go! Mom's OK and she barely reacted to the bite, but I should not have done it. They are really talking now about sending me to live with an outside colony of cats...oh I'll hate it!!!!
