Poor Meowma!

She has just been miserable today with her allergies. Sneezing all day, snuffling and blowing her nose, drinking lots of water (which I have to help her with mol). She has to go in for some exploratory scope work on her throat tomorrow and I think that's part of her "down" problem today. I don't blame her. She's a wonderful meowma and takes such good care of us.

I stayed real close to her all day. Watched her, made sure she paid attention to me and kept her busy mol. She got a little miffed at me once cuz I wouldn't move out of her way, but she leaned down and scritched me neck and that made me feel better. Her too, I could tell. My sissy Daisy Mae kept her busy part of the day too having her throw her soft toys down the steps so she could chase them down the stairs and bring them back to meowma, caterwauling all the way! I growl at her a lot, but I love her. She just tests my patience, mol.

Meowma missed giving us our soft food tonight because a few of us are getting real dependent on it and her budget just doesn't make it easy for her to give it every day. She does the best she can for all of us and she loves us all with all her heart. We love her too and we all let her know it each and every day. You can never show the people you care about too much love. It gets repaid in full and unconditionally.

Night everyone! This old lady is tired so gonna go take a long nap in my box.

I've Been Tagged!!!!

Pooky tagged me, so here goes!

This is how it works. The kitty that is tagged, goes to their diary page and lists 7 facts about themselves. They then list 7 furriends and those kitties will list their 7 facts in their diaries, so that others can get to know a little about each of us.
After listing your facts about yourself, then below that you will name the 7 kitties that you choose to tag. Don't forget to notify them by pawmail or by sending a rosette so that they know they've been tagged.

So here's 7 facts about me:

1. I am THE queen of the house!
2. I steal Meowma's chair just so she will pick me up and love on me.
3. I act like I'm a "bad mood Charlie", but I'm actually very lovable.
4. I am Meowma's Proverbial Fat Cat MOL! Just a tad overweight.
5. I do not like any other furkits in my space and let them know I'm Queen!
6. I love all the furriends I've made since we got here.
7. I will sit and stare at Meowma till she asks me to come up in her lap.

Now for the 7 friends I'm sending this to.

Calico Kitty Kat
Gray Lady

Remember to pmail each of your furriends to let them know they have been tagged or leave them a rosette to let them know. Most of all, have fun! I know I did!

Spring, oh Spring, Wherefore Art Thou Spring???

I feel like it's an igloo out here!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm in the house, but with -24 degree weather and a foot of snow on the ground, it definitely gets a tad, shall we say "chilly" in here between times the heater runs.

Ah well, I'll just keep myself warm snoozing and concentrating hard on a certain orange marshmallow boyfurriend that has stolen my heart and makes it flutter when I talk to him (blush, blush). We are both anxiously awaiting that time when the snow is finally gone and wind carries the scent of cherry blossoms on the air and we can enjoy the spring chasing through the grass and snuggling down for a nap.

*Sigh* Wonder if we will see that time anytime soon? Meowma says it's gonna be a good 3 months before we see any signs of Spring or decent warm weather. Methinks it's gonna be a loonnnggggg cold winter here!

*Snuggles deeper into her fuzzy blanket and concentrates on that certain orange tom so he knows I'm thinking of him*

Valentine's Pawty

Me and my two little "whippersnapper" sisfurs attended a Valentine's pawty today and I think I have two sisfurs that think they are in love with their Valentine's. Neither of them really know what love is yet MOL! The love of my life happens to be the big brofur of my sisfur Daisy's Valentine, Rustle. We've been an "item" just short of a year now and I couldn't think of a time when he wasn't a part of my life. The two young'uns just haven't had the time to really be "in love" yet. Who knows? maybe they will marry their boys, then again, they may grow out of them. Me? No way will I give up my Jaffa!!! He is the most loving and sweet "old furt" I know and being and "old furt" myself, I won't give him up to anyone! We are very well suited for each other, even though he lives across the big pond and I am in northeastern NY, it just doesn't seem like we are that far apart.

Jaffa is the love of me life and I will never give him up!

A Tribute Poem

Our hearts go out to all those pawrents that have so recently lost their beloved furbabies. This little poem by an unknow author goes to those that need comforting and love.

Feel no guilt in laughing

I know how much you care

Feel no sorrow in a smile

That I’m not there to share.

You cannot grieve forever

I do not want you to

I’d hope that you would carry on

The way you always do.

So talk about the good times

And the ways you showed you cared

The days we spent together

All the happiness we shared.

Let the memories surround you

A word someone may say

Will suddenly recapture

A time, an hour, a day.

That brings me back as clearly

As though I was still here

And fills you with the feelings

That I am always near

For if you keep those memories

We will never be apart

And I will live forever

Locked safe within your heart

We love you all!

After much deliberation and some input from some dear furriends, Meowma has decided to let me post a short story written in honor of my angel brofur Starr and all the beloved pets that are lost everywhere. She has been dealing with guilt issues surrounding my and my siblings losses and this is her therapy. Here it is:

Our Shining Star

A bright star shone in the night sky above, twinkling strongly. It seemed to get brighter as the night wore on. As the humans
struggled with a way to tell their children that their beloved animal was gone to the Bridge, the tears sparkled as they fell from their eyes. They looked to the heavens and saw the bright star glittering and watched as it got stronger.

They exchanged glances, wondering, then both smiled at each other. Walking hand in hand, they returned to the room where the children were. Slowly they all joined hands and bowed their heads, for the children already knew in their hearts what had happened and why their parents were so teary eyed.

They all lifted their heads and looked at each other, then one by one went out to see that bright shining star. One child said, "Look! There are many other bright stars too! Are those other animals that have passed over the Bridge?" The father said, in all honesty, that he didn't know, but he knew the one very bright one was their pet.

Mustering the strength to ask, the youngest of the children asked how his father knew that. The father replied, "All pets pass over the Bridge and become a star of love in our hearts and stay with us throughout our time here on earth. When it is our time to go, we will meet up again with our pets and be together for eternity. They watch over us from day to day in all that we do and in little ways, make sure that we know that they are there." The child sweetly looked at his mother and
father and sister and said, "That makes me feel better knowing Twofer is up there and watching me. I'll watch him too whenever I see that bright star or hear the wind blow a certain way or the sun shines brightly on his patch of carpet." The mother was amazed at the child's heartfelt words, but also knew in her heart that he was right.

The moral of this little story is this. Yes, we do feel pain when we lose that beloved pet and yes, it does so hurt us. But the pet, no matter what kind, is happy and feels no pain and runs free as it did as a young one. They are always with us, no matter what we do or say, watching over us from above over that beautiful Rainbow Bridge, waiting for us to join them so we can all be together with them again. The pain will lessen with time, as it should be, but the memories will stay forever in your heart and bring a smile to your face when you least expect it. Cherish those memories as long as you live! I do!

Ice Cream Tag!

My dear loving boyfurriend tagged me and this is how it goes. First you have to name your favorite ice cream, then the ice cream that describes you best.

My favorite ice cream of all time has got to be French Vanilla! Mmmmm, nothing better than a spoonful of that all to myself. I have to fight to get to the head of the line to help Meowma eat hers MOL!

The ice cream that describes me best. Hmmmmm, I would have to say Rocky Road cuz I'm always a bit touchy if the others get too close to me and my space.

I'm going to tag:

Buddee wanted me to share his diary entry and update with effuryone. Here tis!

I just want to say thank you once again to all that have been purring and purraying for me to get better!!! I am almost back to normal with my foot. I still favor it a bit and will hold it up or fold it under when I'm sitting or eating. I still am limping a bit, but nowhere near as badly as I was and sometimes it is not even noticeable unless you look closely.

I owe effuryone a huge thank you and want you all to know that me and my Meowma and furamily love you all!

Purrs and Love,
