Arrival Story:
He found me when I was walking Shannon years ago. He was barely 4 lbs, pack of bones, meowing like there was no tomorrow from inside some bushes. I thought a cat was trapped, so I knelt down to get a better look. He came to me and wanted me to pet him. We took him home and fed him, and he never left us since. We tried to find him his owners, then a new home, because we had a sick dog (shannon) we were caring for at the time. Later when we got another dog, Tiger, Simba became Tiger's best friend, and we kept letting him stay.
He started out indoors, very scared of us when we brought him home, but soon after, he started to expand his comfort zone. He knows to use a litter box when indoors, and also learned (by himself!) to use the doggy door. The vet thinks that because we live near a college, some college kid had him since he was a kitten, had him neutered and everything, and then couldn't keep him so let him "go" in the college campus.
My sister fell in love with him and, because my dad is really allergic to him, he went to live with my sister. He loves his new friend (my sister's roommate's cat) and it's a happily ever after story.
