she's quite the gymnast. Her specialty is the uneven cat tower.

Arrival Story:
We have always had a status quo of 3 cats. As a firm believer in adopting from a rescue organization, our cats have always been adopted as adults and have always been "special needs". When our beloved old girl of 17 years passed away in December 2003 we knew it was only a matter of time before we chose to give another cat a good home. When we went to the shelter in August it was kitten season. The minute we saw this sweet little face, we knew we had to have her. Everyone who knows me is astounded that (a) I adopted a kitten over a cat and (b) she's purrfect. It's a little crazy here right now and the older girls are a little jealous but we are having a lot of fun enjoying Meadow's antics.

Meadow just lost one of her lives. I heard a frantic mewing and some sort of rustling in our guest bedroom. Discovered Meadow trapped in the plastic covering of a pillow form that I had left on the floor. We have also caught her trying to climb up the toilets so keeping the lids down has become a mandatory rule. Today will be a kitten-proofing day in this household.

A day in the Life of a Spoiled Diva

It has been quite an eventful first year. I was lucky to have been in the shelter where good people took great care of me. If I had not been there, my forever family would never have had the chance to adopt me.
Once I got to my new home, I became the center of my family's world and rightfully so. All modesty aside, I am quite adorable, very vocal and always enjoy being petted. I can never have too much attention.
I also possess a magnificent red coat which my vet (who is madly in love with me) says is not only rare for a cat (less than 10% of us) but is incredibly rare for a female (less than 1%). So, you must admit, I truly am quite special!
I rule the house and always have to be first but that is necessary for me to maintain my diva status.
like to spend my morning making my Mom feel guilty about going to work but I do forgive her every time she comes home. And I have quite a bit of fun cozying up to Dad which makes Mom soooo jealous.
I like to play with my toys and catnip is a favorite. Food figures into my day as often as possible so I have morphed from 2 to 10 pounds in a year but with my thick red hair no one can see the extra pounds. Of course, I will have to charm the daylights out of my vet when I see her in October so that she won't encourage Mom to put me on a DIET!!! But I will be so cute that she'll probably say "What Meadow wants, Meadow should get" and she would be so right.
It's time for my 4th nap of the day - lots to dream and scheme about :)
