Arrival Story:
We heard her crying and crying in the scrubby shrubs and trees behind the apartment complex. Finally, after three days, my boyfriend and a neighbor were able to lure her into a cat carrier baited with a bit of tuna--he'd rigged the door so it would shut upon entry. She was a hissing, clawing, terrified little bundle of fur at first, but within 24 hours she'd calmed down considerably and within 48 was climbing on us and eager to play. At first, she had her own space in the garage in a camping tent with her own toys and mini kitty tent, but now she's out and about (in the apartment) with the others. She's just so sweet and feisty and playful, and starts to purr as soon as one picks her up, unless she's in that crazy, zooming around mood and can't be still. 6/14/08 update: Almost a year old now, and bigger than the other two girls in the house! Still full of kitten energy and mischief and convinced she can still fit into small spaces she has no business being anymore! 11/23/08 update: Well, she's over a year now, and the biggest cat in the cathouse! When she runs her belly swings from side to side--disgraceful! She exercises like crazy, though. She and Penguin get along best; he has lot weight since 1) he had to have the two lower canines removed and 2) Super Kitty moved in and has involved him regularly in 'chase.'
