Arrival Story:
Montgomery was the lone kitten born to my best friends cat. He arrived at my house on a hot Texas summer day after an hour long drive on the highway in an open Jeep. Talk about traumatic! But Gummy was unfazed and that really is his personality. He's so easy going and has adapted quickly to all the changes he's had in his life.

Bio:
In his early years while we lived in Texas, Gomer was an outdoor kitty and a real cowboy. He loved roaming the range and hunting up critters and climbing every tree he could find. One of his favorite games was playing hide and seek with me outside at night. I'd get home from work after midnight and he'd hide around the corner of the house and run out at me as I walked to the door. I'd run from him and hide around the other corner of the house, then run out at him when he came looking for me. When I moved to San Francisco, Mongomery became an indoor kitty and a true city gentleman, much more dignified in his personality. He reminded me of a Gentleman's Gentleman; the white hair of his chest surrounded by the dark hair of his body resembling a tuxedo. And he'd always be at the door when I walked in as if he'd been waiting for me. He loved to sit in the window and watch the traffic on the streets below. We moved to the suburbs of the Bay Area and he became the old guy with the potbelly mowing the lawn in shorts with white socks and dress shoes. His favorite thing to do was lounge on the balcony watching the birds and soaking up the sun. We moved back to Texas and have a house with a fenced backyard with a big tree and lots of birds but he was more content to stay inside with the A/C blasting laying in his box in the living room. Montgomery was diagnosed with feline diabetes and just like everything else in his life, he took it all in stride. He was never been bothered with the twice daily shots and only mildly annoyed with the numerous vet visits. He was a real trooper and I loved him more than anything. The depth of sadness I feel is immeasurable.
