"I will miss you so much, Big Brofur. You taught me everything I know about being a good kitty. I will see you at The Bridge and we will curl up together again..."
Coloration: Gray Tabby
Likes: It's a toss up between chasing bed mice, especially those in bed with Daddy, sleeping on mommy's lap, falling asleep in front of mom's computer monitor so she can't see it to type, he also loved playing with his late, great big bro, Ernie and eating.
Pet-Peeves: Not being allowed outside, sudden movement, being grabbed, being approached by strangers. dogs who bark too loud, being held by people he doesn't know.
Favorite Toy: He likes to play "marble soccer" on hard floors. He drops the marble and then chases it around. His first love is his brother Ernie. He loves to wrestle and chase Ernie. Ernie taught him a lot, like it's safer to scratch on the post than the furniture!
Favorite Nap Spot: In October of 2007, Izzie's favorite nap spot became on my lap or nearby.
Favorite Food: Izzie is NOT fussy like his brother Ernie was and his sister, Delilah is. He will eat most anything I give him, although he only gets the BEST!!
Skills: It was pinning his 9 pound big bro Ernie onto the floor and chewing on Ernie's ears. (Ernie didn't mind as long as Izzie didn't bite too hard!
Dwells:
indoors
Arrival Story: Izzie was born under my neighbor's (unenclosed) deck. I saw his Mom first and trapped her. Shortly thereafter, Izzie was at our patio door "talking" to my other cat, Ernie. I chased him around the yards trying to catch him, but he was understandably terrified. I once again borrowed a live trap from our Animal Control Officer, and within five minutes, trapped him. My husband proclaimed loudly that I was NOT to add any more animals to our menagerie. However, within thirty seconds of seeing Izzie, I knew I would try to rehab him. I took Izzie to the vet's immediately to make sure it was safe to have him in my home with my other cats. Thank God he is negative for all those nasty viruses. Mom took good care of him. He had fleas but was not flea-ridden. He also didn't have ear mites. I felt terrible that I trapped Mom and had her taken away and also trapped a sibling of Izzie's. But I am going to give Izzie a wonderful life--and he probably wouldn't have made it otherwise!
Bio: Izzie, his mom and his sibling(s) are a product of uneducated people who think animals are expendable and disposable. Izzie and his sibs didn't ask to be born and although I am not the moron who got a cat and then decided I didn't want it (her) and threw her out to breed, I feel responsible for this little life. I am trying very hard to socialize Izzie in my home with three dogs (sometimes four when we "babysit" for my son's lab, and two other cats. It's expensive and time-consuming and I didn't ask for another cat, but Izzie fills my heart with his little Maine Coon trills and beautiful face. Once he trusts us, I know he will be a great cat!

I know it has been a while since I added to my diary, and meowmie aplogizes. It's just that here in Cleveland, Ohio, things are so darned boring, even for a little kitty like me who can find mischief just about anywhere ;-) Meowmie says the birds are getting more vocal and colorful on our feeders, so she's hoping that means spring can't be far off now. Me? I just see cheeseburgers on two spindly little legs when I look at the birds...
Meowmie has been down this week with a bad tooth infection. Her dentist missed the fact that she needed a root canal last fall when she put a crown on meowmie's tooth and meowmie grew a great big infection in it. Meowmie knows it's the dentist's fault, but she told me she doesn't want to say much because the dentist has a really big hypodermic needle and drill!! Meowmie had it drained twice and now it feels better. And, she says she lost 3 pounds this week because she couldn't eat!
Our dad is also feeling better after his congestive heart failure last Christmas. He even gave me a neck scratch this week! How could he resist--I was sitting on the counter looking sooooo cute. I know Delilah is his favorite, but since he isn't really a big fan of cats, we all consider ourselves lucky that he lets us live here!
People are still coming in and out of our house and we still have to get locked up in the storeroom when we have a "showing". (I'd sure "show" them a thing or two!) Our contract with this realtor is up in six weeks or so, and meowmie is hoping that if we sign with a new realtor, the house will somehow get sold.
We hope that all our Catster friends are having a safe and peaceful New Year so far, and if they aren't to let us know so we can keep you in our prayers.
Wow, so many people have commented on my new photo! I think I look kinda sexy in it, even though I can't do anything about it! (Being sexy I mean. It just comes naturally to me.)
Our Daddy is home from the hospital and feeling better although still tired. Meowmie keeps trying to get him off the sofa and away from the television, but he just sort of sits all the time. We think he was more than a little worried. He is on a low-sodium diet, so if any of my friends out there have hoomins who are also on a LS diet, please pawmail us recipes!!
Christmas was lonely for meowmie, but the hoomin kitteh was here to cheer her up. Wow, the bigger he gets the LOUDER he gets. He's always running around and yelling! We're glad we fit under the tree! But that will be disappearing soon. Meowmie says she's tired of picking up the ornaments "someone" knocks on the floor all the time. Gee, I wonder who she means?
We want to wish all of our Catster friends a very Happy New Year. Whatever you are wishing for in 2010, we want all your wishes to come true!
Meowmy asked me first to say and very big thank you to everyone who sent loving wishes that our Daddy gets better fast. We can feel your purrs and gentle paw pats all the way over here!
We're happy to say that our Daddy is getting better. We are all sad that he won't be home for Christmas, but mom says we'll have a instant replay of Christmas when he DOES come home. Meowmy says it stinks that they will spend their first Christmas apart in 35 years. But the hoomin kitteh is coming over today and for some reason that's beyond me, Meowmy is thrilled about it. The rest of us here at The Zoo just try to stay out of his way. Guess Meowmy doesn't know what it feels like to have your tail pulled!
So, one more time, Iz fans, thank you VERY much for your love and concern. It means a whole lot to all of us!
