Arrival Story:
It's pretty early yet for a story, but I'll start out by saying that as of today (July 30, 2007) Sebastian is not in our physical possession. We plan to pick him up at the Harrison County Humane Society on Thursday, August 2nd. My brother rescued a ragdoll named Sam there today and saw Sebastian and noted that he had been at the HCHS for a very long time and that he was simply beautiful and wonderfully affectionate. My brother insisted that we get Sebastian, and of course, it didn't take too much arm twisting. Daddy had put his foot down and said "No more cats" (again) because we travel to our other house in Virginia, and only have room for four carriers in the car. Mommy saw the sense in this, but when her brother offered to keep Sebastian in his own home while they were gone, Daddy agreed --- actually agreed heartily --- that Sebastian should come to live with us. There will be more pictures and more stories when we get to know him better.
UPDATE: Sebastian's name has been changed to KATO for the manservant in the movie The Pink Panther who kept attacking Inspector Clousseau out of nowhere and seemingly unprovoked, because that is HIS habit.
Bio:
Kato went to the Bridge on March 8, 2011. He had intestinal cancer, which accounted for his chronic and untreatable diarrhea which he has had off and on ever since we got him. He had such a wonderful, mischievious, ornery purrrrr-sonality. He was a cat who could not be denied in any way. He was always front and center when it came to getting (and giving) attention. Simply, we loved him so much.

The results from something called a BIOPSY came back yesterday and I heard the vet telling Mommy that it was time for me to go to the Bridge. I'm so confoooooosed. I don't know what this place called "The Bridge" is, but I heard Mommy say that many of my brothers and sisters (most of whom I have never met) are there, so it can't be a BAD place, can it?? If it isn't a bad place, then why are Mommy and Daddy crying so much??

I'm one of Catster's daily diary picks for today. I'm so happy I can't stop purrrrrrrr-ing.
Life has been good ever since I got over my bad reaction to the antibiotic (Bactrim) that was prescribed for my intestinal infection. Unfortunately, Mom says we will have to try another antibiotic (and they're running out of options) to try to cure my diarrhea.
I've been getting lots of pets and lots of love and I'm responding to the attention. I haven't even been biting toooooo much --- but really, I think Mommy and Daddy have just learned how to read my "signs" better. When it looks as if I might bite, they gently push me away and say NO.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thanks to everycat and their purrrrrrrr-sons who purrrrrrr'd and purrrrrrrr-ayed for me. I seem to be on the mend from the bad reaction I had to the antibiotics that were supposed to cure my intestinal bacterial infection. Mom is waiting until I'm 100% before trying another antibiotic on me. She is so afraid, though, that something similar might happen again -- and it was so scary for BOTH of us.
Thanks for the HEALING ROSETTES and the GIFTS and the LOVE you showed me during this very difficult time!
