Arrival Story:
I was 12 when my first cat, Mittens, passed away. We decided we wanted another wonderful loving cat in our home, so we went to the local animal shelter. At first, I picked out a female kitten from the litter, but noticed her collar was very tight. So tight it had cut into her neck and her skin had grown over it. I told the animal shelter, and they told me that I couldn't adopt her. I went back, and noticed Mickey. He was very sweet and came right up to us. He also had the same problem with his neck, but we just didn't tell the animal shelter and took him home. When we took him to the vets (he was coughing and looking poorly) the vet said that he had to stay overnight! Poor baby. He also had some sort of STD, maybe Herpes, passed on from his mother. He's a wonderful cat, and we're so happy to have him.
Bio:
He's the sweetest, most loving cat you'll ever find, happiest when he's curled up with you. He's also the NOISIEST cat you'll ever find, screams to be let in, let out, for food, for attention, anything.
When I was away at college, he stayed at home with my parents, and one of the neighborhood boys shot him with a BB gun. The vet said it severed his tear duct in one eye, and that while it didn't cause him any pain, it couldn't be removed.
Mickey is adjusting to life with kitten. He's a little more playful, and he enjoys the perks of being fed the good stuff now with Kai, but he's usually more annoyed by Kai's antics then willing to play along. But he's an old man, and deserves a little peace.
