indoors Arrival Story: Diva came to the shelter on 7/5/07 before we were even open. She had been found by a lady about five days prior in the Wal-Mart parking lot! She was covered up in fleas and a bit skinny. At one month of age, she was far too small to stay at the shelter, and we didn't have the room anyway, so I volunteered to foster her- she was my first foster and I failed miserably. I didn't take into account the amount of socialization she needed with other people, and since I live on my own, the only time she was around anyone else was when she went to the shelter for her vaccinations and other medical stuff. By the time she was ready to be adopted, she had gotten to the point where she would be a total brat around anyone but me and even bit the lady who was trying to put her in her cage when I brought her to a mobile adoption at Petsmart. I started to bring her to the shelter almost every day in effort to socialize her, but by the time she was eight months old I gave up and decided to just keep her. Bio: Diva is 60% headache and 40% pure love- she'll get into all sorts of mischief while I'm at work and when I get home, she'll curl up in my lap and rev her purr motor up to full throttle and do all sorts of cute things like play with my dog, Dixie, and follow me around the house. Even though I've never fed her anything but cat food, she still is absolutely addicted to human food to the point where she regularly knocks the trash can over to clean up anything that smells remotely like food. She's also notorious for stealing Dixie's dog food. But as much trouble as she is, I love her to death- all I can say is she sure does make life interesting.
