Arrival Story:
I have had a pet every day since I was 18. My parents would not let my brother and I have pets when we were kids because they said we could not take care of them and we were not home often enough. Odd, considering my dad was a school teacher and had the same hours we did! So, when I moved out at 18, I got a cat. I adopted her from the Dumb Friends League and named her Kitty (rest in peace). Then, I got a kitten to keep her company and named her Axyl (the Black Flash). A couple years later, I came across a shepard puppy, so tiny she could fit in the palm of one hand. Her eyes were still closed and her tongue was still lodged. Obviously abandonded or kicked out. She was sooooo teeny. She would just yelp and yelp when I put her in her bed for the night so for quite some time, she slept in bed with me. I named her Brownie (rest in peace). I moved a lot, but Kitty adopted my dad and Brownie adopted my mom so I took Axyl with me every where. Except here. My new roommate is alergic and would not let me bring her. I was sans pet for the first time in long time. After four and a half years, I got my own place and I did not wait long before I was on the prowl for a new four-legged friend! I was not even looking at kitties. I wanted a small dog or ferret. But I glanced at the kitties anyway and it was love at first sight! I took her into the get-to-know-you room. She was pretty aloof, not really wanting anything to do with me. She snubbed the toys. But she did rub against my legs. The Humane Society said she was about 10 or 11. I did not care, I wanted her. I put her on hold so I could come back the next day with a carrier and notify my landlord. When I picked her up the next day, they looked at her again and said, no way is she 10! She is probably only four or five. Non-the-less, she was mine. She settled in very quickly and did not do the "Im scared of my surroundings" hide and seek. She was on me like white on rice. She is one of the most loving animals I have ever seen. And when I love her, she drools. Yummmm, kittie drool!
Bio:
She was adopted from the Humane Society, so her background is a mystery. How anyone could give up such a lover is beyond me.
