Arrival Story:
He was advertised in the newspaper. He belonged to a teenage girl who had received some money for her Birthday and purchased him as a kitten. She decided to move to an apartment and her parents said if she didn't want to take the cat, she would have to sell him. She lived in Evergreen, Colorado, a mountain town west of Denver. We drove up to meet him. I had never seen such an angry cat. He couldn't believe what she was doing to him and he did everything in his power to keep from being removed from his home. It was clear that she cared more about moving in with her boyfriend than she did about her pet. I heard tales about him falling off the deck. The house was on the side of a mountain. Egads! I heard about fish hooks being removed from his paws. When I picked him up, he hit me in the face and drew blood. At that point, I didn't care whether he liked me or not. He was going home with me. We bought him and headed back down the mountain. He was pretty quiet for most of the trip. When we got about a mile from home, he pooped all over himself. So, the first thing that happened to the poor guy in his new home was to get a bath. He was screaming and so upset that the inside of his mouth was dark purple. I was afraid he would have a heart attack before I got him cleaned up. She had never bothered having him neutered either, so that was the next thing that happened to him. She called him Presley, but I renamed him. Poor little guy hated me, hid under the bed and growled at me. It took him a few weeks to decide that I was ok and the food was pretty good. He decided to stay. Galahad was born on May 25, 1995 and came to live with us on June 8, 1996.
