Orange & White Tabby
Picking on other male cats...apparently, he doesn't know he's been neutered!
Favorite Nap Spot:
in the garage
He leaves cute muddy pawprints on everyone's windshields, and greets guests
He had many homes before ours. When we adopted him he was skinny . Now he is sleek and healthy.
June 2007-We noticed Evee's eye was infected. Upon bringing him to the vet we discovered that he had an ulcer on his cornea, so they sewed his inner lid shut so it could heal properly. Unfortunately, they forgot to give us any eyedrops or further instructions, so when we noticed his condition worsening, we brought him back. At that point they said he would have to lose the eye! We were HORRIFIED, of course! I mean, maybe he would have lost the eye even if they had given him the meds...but we will never know that now! I spoke to the owner of the hospital to express my outrage, and he suggested we just sew the lid shut again and "maybe it will just shrink away"...or maybe we'll have to remove it later. I said NO! His eye is useless and infected, and YOU MADE A MISTAKE...I think you should remove it now and get it over with...the poor beastie has suffered long enough! I also said I thought it should be free of charge since it might have never happened if he had been treated correctly to begin with. Well, they did the "enucleation" ( fancy word for eye removal) and took $200. off the bill.
Fast forward to now. Evee has recovered totally and seems to have lost none of his balance or swagger. He still rules the roost utterly, and while he only has ONE lovely golden eye now, the compensation is that he looks like a pirate . That's CAPTAIN Evee to you! Avast me hearties!

A few days ago our worst fears about Evee were confirmed, when we discovered his remains. He had been missing for about 2 months. We had put up lots of "Lost Cat" posters and asked all the neighbors to let us know if they saw him. I am sure anyone reading this can sympathize with our loss...we have all experienced the demise of a beloved pet at one time or another, and it's never easy to say goodbye! The only comfort is the knowledge that our cat had a loving home where he had a happy life and where he enriched the lives of his human family. We will miss him!
