My Tail of Devotion for BonnieSeptember 4th 2006 11:04 am[ Leave A Comment ]
![]() Shortly after I brought them home, Clyde started hiding under the bed and would hardly eat anything. Bonnie still groomed him and tried to take care of him, but he was so sick. I found out that Clyde had wet FIP. I decided to have him euthanized after about 4 weeks, because his little belly was so full of fluid that he could hardly get around. When Bonnie was 9 months old she developed anterior uveitis in one eye. She was treated by a veterinary opthamologist. She ended up with anterior uveitis and glaucoma in both eyes. Her regular vet and the opthamologist told me she had dry FIP and may not survive another year. That was in 2001!! She was treated by the eye doc for about 2 years. Then, the uveitis and glaucoma just went away!! She is a lucky girl. I can not believe I still have her. I still worry about her all the time. I think that she does have FIP but it is in remission. Her coronavirus titer is still very high. She is my miracle baby and I love her very much. I try to keep her happy and spoiled all of the time. She now has 3 other cats and a dog in her house. She would prefer to be an only cat. She is the princess, after all. The other cats are Elvis, a siamese mix who is kind of nasty to everyone (he is a rescue, he was abandoned as a kitten), Ren, a laid back, fat tabby cat, and Vinny, a black cat, the youngest in the household. Tonka is a Chow mix that I adopted last summer, from the local humane society. He tolerates Bonnie better than the other cats. She is more laid back, like Tonka. She is a very beautiful but hates being groomed.
