 Quick Bio:
 Birthday: September 21st 2005
 Coloration: Tortoiseshell Tabby

Likes: sleeping in the sunshine, eating cat treats, playing with toys, running from room to room, curling up under the blanket with people, chin scratchies

Pet-Peeves: being scratched anywhere other than her head, being held for too long, being petted on the butt

Favorite Toy: catnip mouse, feather toy, real mice, strings/shoelaces, twist ties, hair ties, pasta shells uncooked

Favorite Nap Spot: my bed, computer chair, her kitty pillow, window sills, occasionally a lap

Favorite Food: meow mix delights

Skills: she's got ups

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story: I responded to an ad on craigslist that someone had found a pregnant cat on the highway and she gave birth to kittens. Luckily, there were still four available. Not knowing which to choose, I specified I wanted a female and the guy immediately picked up the tabby with orange on her head to be bathed and given to me. Aki has been with me for over a year now and raising her has been interesting.

Bio: Aki is both loving and arrogant. Everything is on her terms and even though she has the strangest personality I have ever seen in cat, I love her to death. She knows exactly when it's good to be affectionate and purrs whenever I lay my head on her while she's sleeping. She's incredibly active and will play with anything.

Don't EVER buy the SoftClaws nail caps. They're not safe for your kitty. I had put them on Aki and although she managed to get most of them off, a few were still on. She's been destructive lately because I haven't been home as much as I used to. I thought this would help save the furniture/carpet. Well, I came home from the doctor's yesterday to find that some bins in the window had been spilled. While cleaning them up, I notice dried red stuff on the floor. Then, looking at Aki, saw she wasn't putting pressure on her left foot. I looked closer and it was swollen. Upon grabbing her paw (she really hated that) I saw what I had feared, Aki had torn a claw completely out. I immediately called the vet and while they said she'd be okay, they want her to come in to make sure it doesn't become infected. I couldn't figure out what had happened. Upon getting up this morning, I saw that the blinds had been ripped up pretty bad. There, tangled in the strings, was Aki's claw with the awful blue cap still attached. Had I not put those on her, she would never had snagged herself. I feel completely horrible and guilty about the entire incident. I removed the remaining caps on her and tossed the refills. These things aren't safe at all. :o(

That's pretty much what Aki does. Today she's been sleeping and meowing at me. Aki is a torbie (although she has more tabby markings than torishell) and from what my friend who used to work at Petsmart tells me , they tend to be very "talkative." I picked up one of those refillable catnip mice from Target and she flipped that thing around for a good twenty minutes. I need to get her in for a checkup soon but that will have to wait til we move to a new apartment. I can't wait to get her a cat tree!
