I have started a group of my own!
Hello,
Simon, my blind kitten wants to invite you to our new catster group: Blind Cats.
Please take a moment to see if this group would be of interest to you.
Thanks so much!

Here's what I posted:

Lisa just emailed me:
I wanted to thank you for the letter that you put on craigslist. The mayor got a hold of it some how. It was read in a board meeting and is hanging up in city hall. It was a very good letter. When I say it was read in the board meeting that is a public meeting so anybody can go to them.
Too bad I had typos in it. ;)
Here's the link text:
I want to thank Lisa at the St Clair pound for her effort on placing as many animals as she possibly can.
She is the sole employee of the St Clair animal control and does excellent work. She treats each and every animal that comes in to her small holding compound with respect and compassion.
Let me tell you about the kitten I adopted from her.
He is approx 11 weeks old. He's a gorgeous siamese mix and when I wnet to see him he had a nice clean cage, toys and ample cold water and a nice full food dish.
While you may expect this from any upstanding organization, keep in mind she works alone in a small concrete building that has 10 full dog pens and 6 full cat cages.
Before 9am the pound was clean the trash was unseen and she was working on callback for people who had lost their pets. In this heat it is an amazing feat to see one person do so much in such an orderly fashion.
Back to my kitten, though.
Animal Control is no place for an animal to be taken, as adoption rates are often low and as unseen as this pound is, its amazing how many animals get adopted out. Unfortunantly I learned that the pound has exceeded its intake already this year as compared to last year.
Can you imagine how happy I was to find the pet of my dreams in a little building behind a water treatment plant off a dusty weedgrown gravel road?
Simon is a joy for me. He was given a chance thanks to Lisa, and luck turned my way when I found him through her.
Have I mentioned that Simon is blind?
My little eyeless kitten found a home thanks to the compassion Lisa showed him. With all the tough decisions she has to make, weeks on end, day by day - she saw potential in this little one and gave him a chance and had hope for him. I can never thank her enough!
Please help support the St Clair Animal Control! Its a tiny place without so much as a bathroom for Lisa to use in her work days. Here is the link to the pound, where you can see a list of things she desperately needs to have donated. If you cant physically go to the pound please think of donating through paypal, as there is a link for that option also.
