Arrival Story:
Just before Hurricane Katrina, we evacuated with our cat, Pringles, and our dog, Gracie, and went to a safe place outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During our stay there, Pringles got sick. We took him to the vet who said that he was stressed and sent him home with anti-depressants. After a couple of days he didn't get better, so we brought him to a different vet. He was diagnosed at that time with Pneumonia and died 5 days later. We moved to Massachusetts the following week and as we were staying with friends, we were not able to get another cat. Once we got our own place, we decided to get another cat and saw an ad for a kitten on Craigslist. In talking to the owner, we found out that she had 2 kittens - a polydactyl orange tabby male and what she described as a white female kitten. We decided on the orange one, but when we got there, she had already given away the orange male and only had the white female. As soon as I held her, I knew she was the right kitten. As much as I thought I wanted another orange tabby, I am so happy that we have Parker with us instead. She is a constant joy.

Moving

My mom says we are going to be moving soon. I'm not really sure what that means, but there are lots of boxes laying around. I think it's kinda cool. I get to chew on them and play with the plastic strap that's holding them all together. I love chewing on boxes. My mom told me that I'm going to like the new house because there will be lots of windows for me to look out of and there won't be lots of people making noises in the hall which tends to scare me. She said I'm going to like it there.

The Great Toilet Dive

Do you kitties out there have routines? I do. Every morning when my moms are getting dressed, I jump up onto the toilet seat and wait for them to brush me. Sometimes, I just run in there when they go in just in case they want to give me an extra brushing. I may have to rethink that strategy.

Last night, my mom went into the bathroom, and just before she closed the door, I barreled in and made a jump for the toilet seat. This, my kitty friends, was a bad idea. This time, the toilet lid was up and I dove right in. Mom tried to dry me off, but my pride was hurt and I didn't want any part of all that. So, she let me clean up and then brushed me to make me feel better.

Toothpaste is not so good

Every morning when my moms get ready for work, they brush their teeth. Toothpaste always looked co creamy and tasty that I decided to try it myself. Well, for all you kitties out there who think this may be a good idea, let me tell you ahead of time that it is not. Toothpaste tastes bad and makes your mouth all foamy.
