Mommy got a job!

She says that in one month, she will have to get up early in the morning and go to work all day. My human sissy, Matilda, and I aren't quite sure we are happy with this latest development, but Mommy seems relieved, almost giddy. She says she hasn't worked in nine years, though, and she's nervous.

The job, itself, isn't exactly what she was looking for. She was a marketing copywriter in her past, pre-Mommy life. Her new job will be phone sales/customer service. But it pays well, has benefits, and most importantly, gives mommy the financial independence she needs so she can buy us toys and food!

So, all-in-all, if I don't get to have mommy in the house all day, that's okay. I'll still get to cuddle with her at night ('cause I'm sure she'll be tired)!

I'm still around!

My life has been very strange recently. First, back in September, my mom said she was getting a divorce. I wasn't sure what that meant, but she said there would be some big, difficult changes ahead. Nothing really happened at first, except mom started looking for a job. Then, in February, we moved out of the house. Matilda, my mommy, my human sissy and I now live in a very nice two-bedroom condominium with no stairs. Mommy says I've gained weight without the stairs! The funny thing is, I don't yowl in the middle of the night anymore! Tilly and I get to sleep anywhere we want with no closed doors!

Mommy is desperately looking for a job. She is getting worried. But I don't want her to be gone all day. She says that she needs a job to pay for our home and food, so I can see how she would think that was important.

After we moved, my sissy started spending every other weekend with her daddy. Mommy gets sad on those weekends, but tilly and I do our best to make her happy. Mommy has lost a lot of weight. I miss her softness, but she is happy with it!

I'm still here in Catster Land

It's been a very long time since I have been able to get online to see what my catster buddies are doing. My mommy says it's her fault and that she's very sorry. But she can't help it. She has a lot going on. My mommy is getting a divorce and is having to find a full-time job. With the job market the way it is, her search is not going well. But that's what she's doing mostly every day. She says if she gets a really good one, Matilda and I can get even more toys!

Don't worry about mommy, though. Divorce is difficult, but she is handling it very well. She and daddy are still friends and they are very good parents to their human child, my sister. And mommy is looking forward to a new chapter in her life (but has the incredible urge to read ahead).

Happy July 4th Everyone!

As usual, the people in my neighborhood made a lot of noise last night. Tilly and I were really scared - and so was our human sister. But it was still nice to look at all the pretty fireworks. Well, it would have been if I had been brave enough!

The really good part about yesterday was that we had company. You'll never guess who came to celebrate the 4th (and my Daddy's birthday) with us. Diego's mommy!!!!! I got to meet her and smell her. And guess what? She smelled like Diego and LuLu (especially her purse). My family really loved her and hope to get to see her again soon. Mommy is talking about going to see her. I wish I could come, too, so I could meet Diego and LuLu. But then again, I'd probably do that cat thing, brush my tail out and hiss at my friend for some reason.

Diego's mommy thinks I look like a Bombay kitty. Mommy looked it up and agrees! I have the eyes, the coloring and the build. Someone in my family must have been a Bombay!!!! And she brought Tilly and me a new nip toy and some fresh nip. I've licked the toy a lot and it's YUMMY!!!!

Tilly showed her how sweet and pretty she is and I finally decided not to be shy and got lots of love! I even performed my amazing hoop trick for her!

I am still purring away - and mommy is still smiling. We all had a great time! (Next time, can they please skip the fireworks?)

Mom's New Business

Mommy is a real live pet sitter now. She has all her bonding and insurance, and has even had some clients. I am confused about the doggie smells on her, but she seems happy! She put her listing on Catster Local and has a website if you want to check it out. She's still working on it. It's http://www.petsit.inspired_by_critters

The other news is that mommy and my sister taught me how to jump through a hoop. I'm pretty talented, huh?

Me? Really? I am rolling on the floor with happiness. Also, the sun is shining in and I have a lot of sunny spots, which makes the day even better!

Thank you, Catster!

My heart is heavy today. I just found out that my Uncle Tigger has gone to heaven. I never met him, but my mom has, and she said he was a sweet, loving boy kitty. We are all sad, and we know how sad his mommy is.

Kind of Frustrated

Just like last year, when my Catster Plus expired, I got no warning. Just an email that said I could pay to get it all back. Of course, mommy is going to give me her credit card so I can do that, but I do wish HQ would send an email out a week ahead of time so kitties can take care of it before their memberships actually expire. Of course, I love Catster, but that would make me love them even more!

Thank you, America. You got it right! I am so thankful to witness history. I hope our country will begin to heal, both our oldest wounds and our newly inflicted ones. I go to sleep tonight a very proud kitty.

It's my birthday! I'm four today.

Mommy says she has a special something for me but I have to wait until later to get it. I can't stand the suspense. What is it?

Every year on my birthday, I get locked up for a couple of hours while our doorbell rings nonstop. I hear lots of kids laughing and lots of crinkly candy-wrapper noises. I love wrappers! Maybe this year I'll get to see what happens at the door. Mommy says it's safer for me in the bathroom so that I won't run outside on Howl-a-ween. OOOOhhhh.... Howl???? Maybe it's a dog holiday. Or a werewolf holiday. They howl, right? I guess I am safer in the bathroom.

Still... I'd love a candy wrapper. Just one.

Have a safe one everybody!!!!!
