Coloration: Black
Likes: Affection
Pet-Peeves: Strange cats wandering onto HIS property
Favorite Toy: Birds
Favorite Nap Spot: In his "doggie house" in dog pen
Favorite Food: Any better quality dry food
Skills: A very skilled bird hunter. He could catch a sparrow in the air. Sammy always loved to ride on my shoulder. He would beg to be picked up and then climb on up, stand on my shoulder; ride along where ever I would go.
Dwells:
indoors and outdoors
Arrival Story: Sammy was a beautiful black cat. He had only about 5 little white hairs on his chest and as he aged, he had all white whiskers. That is the only way that we could see him in the dark, by seeing those white whiskers!! He came to us when his expectant mother decided to move into our barn to have her kittens. Sammy was one of three and we kept them all. Unfortunately, the other two were hit on the road. That is when we decided to move Sammy into our unused dog pen so that he wouldn't get on the road and become another sad statistic. He didn't mind being in his pen at all and whenever we were outside, Sammy was right with us. In his later years, Sammy decided that he wanted to be a full time indoor kitty, to which we gladly agreed. He still liked to go outside during the days when it was nice but he was always right there in the evenings to come in the house and sleep on "his" couch.
Bio: Sammy died about a year ago. He was getting up there in years and the vet warned us that his health was not good. He had kidney failure and just kept getting thinner and thinner. Finally, one day, he insisted on going outside (he had been staying in the house. )When I came home from work, he feebly walked over to greet me and gave a very weak and pleading meow, as if to say, "Please help me." It was just pouring down rain. I grabbed him up in a dry towel and put him in a box. When I came back outside to add more warm towels, (about 2 minutes later), he was gone. I firmly believe that he waited for me to come home that day so that he could say his final Goodbye and then he knew that it was time to go. I miss him so much. He was such a good natured and loving cat. He was never a fighter but always the peace maker. All he had to do was to give "that look" to the other kitties and they knew to behave. He was the senior cat and the boss and the others never challenged him. He gave us many years of love and lots of happiness. Rest in peace, sweet Sammy.

Well, my brofurr Smokey already thanked everyone for all of their help with our wedding but I just want to say again, "Thanks to all who did all of the behind the scenes work and made it pretty easy for us."
Our Meowmie's were stressed beyond belief and probably a big pain to those who knew what they were doing but we all made it through the ceremony with very few hitches. MOL
This has been the happiest day of my life as I became a most willing and happy husband to the beautiful and lovely Clawdia. She and her sisfur, Fire were both lovely brides today as they took the paws of my brofurr, Smokey and myself. We stood side by side as one loving and devoted family and pledged our love to one another and said our solemn vows. It was a lovely outdoor wedding and we were so happy to share it with so many of our special friends from The Rainbow Bridge.
Clawdia was the loveliest bride that I ever saw and it made tears come to my eyes to see her walk down the aisle and give her paw to me. I am one of the luckiest and happiest cats at The Bridge. Of course Smokey will probably tell you the same thing about himself and his lovely bride, Fire. It was one very, very special day and we are so thankful to so many people who helped us through it all.
We love you and are most grateful for your friendship.
Well, my bride and I are off on our honeymoon to Switzerland. We will be back in a couple of weeks and hope to see you all then. Until we get back and get settled into our routines, please enjoy the pawsome slide show on my page. It was a very special gift from two very special people in our lives. Thanks Simmie and Lisa.
One last special thanks Jo Ann, mother of the bride, for allowing me to take the paw of your lovely girl and for giving her to me to share my life. I will cherish her forever and promise to do my very best to always make her happy. She is the love of my life and I will take extra special care of her.
Love and hugs,
Sammy and Clawdia
Well, actually I have had my pilot's license from quite some time now but this is only the second time that I've flown in my new airplane. She is bright blue and such a beaut. It flies like a dream and is quite fast.
The first time that I flew her, it was to take my sisfur, my fiancee' and her sisfur and her fiancee', who is also my brofurr, to Maui for the wedding of Bear and Odie. That was fun and such a lovely time that we had at the wedding.
Yesterday, I flew my sisfur Hazel from Rainbow Bridge down to Hawaii again. This time for a vacation that she and some friends are enjoying. She missed the plane that was taking the group; so I volunteered to fly her down in my plane. It was a heavenly flight and we had a great time. Hazel was quite pleased that I flew her down because she was very upset that she might miss out on this wonderpurr chance for a nice vacation with our earth sisfur, Pickles.
I didn't stay over though because Hazel sent me back home with a special shipment to be delivered to her fiancee' Oingo for his birthday. She sent fresh fruit and a whole plane load of fresh flowers straight from the island. They were certainly beautiful and fragrant; she said that they were called bird of paradise. They certainly didn't look like birds to me, though.
Anyhow, I kept the fruit and flowers cool for the flight and dropped them off for Oingo and now I am going home to get some rest. I love flying but boy, am I tired. That was one longggg flight and this pilot needs to rest his wings. The plane is in the hangar and waiting for our next adventure. It may just be very soon too because I am being married in September and I plan on flying my beautiful wife and myself to a secret destination for our honeymoon.
So remember my dear friends, the next time that you look up in the sky and see that fast little blue airplane, don't forget to wave because it may just be me, Capt. Sammy
I was tagged by my sweet fiancee', Clawdia. It's the 5 game of tag - I list five great things (about me), and then go and tag five other kitties!
1. I was a very laid back and easy going kitty. Never a fighter but always the peace maker.
2. I was entirely black except for about 5 little white hairs on my chest and then when I got older, my whiskers all turned white! Quite distinguished looking, I thought!
3. I always loved to come into the house and snooze on the couch. I blended in quite well with the cover on the couch and Meowmy said that I made a nice decoration.
4. I loved to sit on Meowmy's lap and knead until I would start to drool. I was just soooo happy.
5. I loved our family's first black labrador. She would allow me to brush up against her and even to snuggle with her. We were furry good furriends.
I tag:
1. Tabby
2. Albert
3. Roy Baxter
4. Mipo
5. Sparky
