May 30 is Ricky's birthday!!
I found Ricky at a Petsmart cat rescue event one week after I found my first cat, Ilsa. He was very small and timid. He is named after Rick Blaine in Casablanca. He was sick and much younger than I thought when I adopted him. During his illness, I found Dr. Haines, who is still our family vet. Dr. Haines made him "all better" but at 2 years old, Ricky broke his hip and had surgery to repair it. He still walks with a John Wayne-type swagger!
Bio:
Ricky was much younger than 6 weeks when I adopted him; he needed to be bottle fed when I got him. He got along well with Kelsey and she became his "mom"; he used to sleep next to her and knead her as a kitten. To this day, Ricky prefers Kelsey and our other dog, Monique, to any of his feline housemates!
