Likes: Sitting on mama's shoulder and purring in her ear, looking out the window, warm places, sleeping in the bathroom sink, helping mama wake up her human sister and brother in the morning, putting her wet nose in Mama's ear, being brushed
Pet-Peeves: when Wilbur invades her snuggle time with Mama, exercise, empty food dishes, car rides, baths, being shut out of a room, being on a diet
Favorite Toy: the little plastic milk jug ring, it's her 'bracelet', string, her 'fishing pole' toy, pony tail holders, bottle lids, straws, little pieces of paper, feathers, toy fur mice, sparkle balls, catnip cigar and catnip bubbles.
Favorite Nap Spot: mama's lap, the sofa, mama's chair, Mama and Daddy's bed, the ottoman, anywhere there is a patch of sunlight, the bathroom sink, in the bathroom cabinet on the clean towels
Favorite Food: Hills Prescription R/D diet cat food (not her favorite, but it's all she gets)
Skills: she says "Mama" and holds complete conversations with me, she body-slams doors until they come open, she tells me when her water dish is empty by pushing it out into the middle of the kitchen floor, missing the litterbox 3 out of 4 times.
Arrival Story: We were looking to add some members of the furry persuasion to the family so we put out the word that we were looking for 2 kittens and these girls got our attention, we drove to Kansas City that night and picked out these babies from 12 different kittens, they were 8 weeks old at the time. We really wanted sisters and these girls were puuurrrfect!!!
Bio: Grizabella and her sister Demeter are named for 2 of the cats in the Broadway musical 'Cats' Their names fit them to a tee, they are both just the sweetest kitties, we don't know now what we did before we had them. They are the first ones in the morning to get kisses (much to my husband and kids' chagrin) and they are the little furry lights of our lives. They have brought so much extra love into our home, it's amazing what these little girls have done for our relationship as a family.
Did you know that when it's June in Kansas it's HOT???? I'm a dark colored cat so, it's really getting me down. In fact, it's a major bummer. I don't go outside, but even inside the house it's hot. I don't understand, but I try not to be too attached to weather related issues.
Mama and Daddy have been gone a lot lately, they started a new business and according to Mama, very soon she's not going to have all these daycare kids hanging around all the time. This is a good thing in case you were wondering.
She even says that I can become a traveling cat. I don't know if I'm digging that so much. I really don't like riding in the car, I've never been on a plane so maybe I'll like that better. Think they'll let me sit on Mama's lap during the trip? I think once they see how beautiful I am, they'll let me. I think it would be cool to go to Paris and Milan and buy myself a diamond collar or maybe get my ears pierced and get some diamond earrings and maybe a tennis bracelet. I'm thinking a crystal food and water dish would be nice too. I can be a posh cat, right?
Demeter is doing well, she's been a lot friendlier lately, Mama thinks that there might be something wrong with her cause she's even sucking up to her. I just think she's been watching me and has decided that she wants more attnention so she's being a copy cat..get it...COPY CAT?? LOL, ok sorry I thought that was funny.
Wilbur is still nuts, but then again you already knew that, didn't you?
My olympic training is going ok, I am still working out 3 days a week for about 30 minutes at a time and I passed my language class at the local community college. I'm well on my way to winning the gold. Thats gonna be sooooo cool.
I bought some high heels the other day to practice my spokes model thing but they pinch my toes.
Why does Mama call me Brunswick?? Isn't that a company that makes bowling balls??
ok, I need to go rest, it's been 20 minutes since my last nap.
Wow, Christmas rocks!! We got some new mousies and some other great stuff from Mama and Daddy. They’re so good to us. Mama took some pictures of my kitty sister and brother and I under the Christmas tree and put them on the holiday stroll on Catster. I thought mine was the best of course, but theirs turned out ok too, I guess.
I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t get diamonds, caviar or a Jaguar for Christmas, but I DID get the mice and in all reality, that’s the only thing that’s practical for me right now. Until I start my career as a spokes model after the Olympics.
Speaking of the Olympics, my training is going well. I have been practicing my catnip bubble popping and I feel like I’m at my peak performance right now. My schedule will be a little lighter for a while to see if I maintain or if I need to beef it up more later.
Wilbur is still nuts. I thought I’d just throw that in. I know you aren’t surprised. Demeter, our kitty sister tried to sell him on eBay…I told her that probably wasn’t a good idea since we neither one can box him up and take him to the post office. She was mad, but she took the ad off the internet.
Mama got this little white thing for Christmas from Daddy, it’s about the size of a credit card and she’s been hooking it up to the computer and doing what she calls music downloads for DAYS now. She’s obsessed. She may need to seek therapy for her condition, or at least she may need a prescription. She’s OCD, I swear. Those things in her ears are interesting though. They dangle and well, that’s just irresistible to me.
So, Mama and Daddy and the human kids got the suitcases out the other day, this is NOT GOOD!!!! I hate it when they leave me! I mean, I like the little neighbor girl, but she’s NOT Mama, and I just can’t bring myself to snuggle with her like I do Mama. I’ll probably have to give Mama the silent treatment for a while when they get home. She hates that. It makes me feel better though. Heh…
I just looked at the clock and I’ve been up an entire 20 minutes. I really need to get some beauty sleep. A beautiful girl like myself can never get too much beauty sleep. Just ask my Mama.
I'm sorry it's been a while since I wrote. A lot has been going on here and Mamma just doesn't have the time to sit down and write like she used to. She had a ton of kids here all summer and now that school has started, things seem to be slowing down a bit.
I'm still a princess in case anyone was wondering. I am pampered and spoiled and no one can do anything to stop me! I love being the center of attention and Mamma thinks I'm the cats meow, get it...cats meow....ok, ok, that was bad. Sorry...
Anyway, I'm sure you've already heard that Wilbur escaped and was gone for almost 2 days, so I'll spare you the details. The story can only be told so many times. He's home now and he's fine, if you call deeply mentally disturbed fine. *eyeroll*
I was sitting on Mamma's lap the other day, purring with my wet nose in her ear and slobbering all over her neck while kneading her with my paws. She was really digging it too. I was singing her the sweetest kitty song and along comes stinky breath Wilbur. He's an attention junkie. Whenever anyone else is getting love, he has to come over and mess it up. I just gave him a dirty look and whispered into Mammas ear that we would finish later.
Mamma now says that I'm like a bowling ball with legs. I think she's making a reference to my roundness. Hey, I'm in shape! round is a shape! I don't see what the big deal is about me jumping onto her chest when she's lying in bed. She acts like she can't breathe....WHAT?!?!
She was doing laundry the other day, so naturally, I had to get into the basket of warm laundry and hold it down cause it might float off and that would be bad. I was just doing my civic duty. Besides, I dig warm laundry. It's the most off the hook thing in the world, besides Mamma... She's pretty cool too.
I was thinking about my options for endorsements after the Olympics, I hope Nike calls, and maybe Wheaties....can you imagine MY picture on the front of the Wheaties box??? How cool would THAT be?? I'd also like do do a commercial for like Slim Fast or something, even though I'M NOT FAT, I'm fluffy. I have a good speaking voice.
