Life as Me

Me vs Moth

Last night mommy got home after dark. She was really late and I was starving. I was sitting by the door waiting when I heard the car doors slam. I figured I'd be the first not-so-gentle reminder that dinner was late, yet again. But little did I know, that it wasn't dinner I was in for - it was an attack.

This monster moth flew in behind mommy and made a bee line for my face. It fluttered a moment then suddenly began to beat it's flappy wings frantically at me. I tried to dodged and weaved, but the moth won't give up. It flew completely around my head, then came back for the second round.

I didn't know what to do. I just stood there. The moth continued to flap and fly around me. Then it started to slap at me...right between my eyes.

It was really scarey, so I took off running. I murr-wheered at it and flicked my back foot, just in case it thought it could follow me.

Mommy laughed really hard and said I was silly. Daddy thinks I need a Dr. Phil for cats...who ever that is.

Wow. I've never been tagged before. Thanks for thinking about me Apollo.

First of my 7 things is...It's still snowing here and really cold. I spend most of my time warm and cozy in my 'nestie.'

2. I like to wake up mommy bright and early (5:00 am) to feed me. Hey, a guy gets hungry and I don't want that dry food. I WANT CANNED!!!

4. My other favorite spot to sleep is on the arm of the sofa. The furnace blows warm air there and I like to stretch my paw towards it.

5. I like to hide under newspapers. They're crinkly fun. Plus, I can jump out at Mommy or Kinu.

6. If I get caught up in the crinkly fun of the newspaper and 'accidently' jump out at Kinu, then I need to find somewhere to hide and quick...Kinu is REALLY rough and NEVER forgets.

7. Last of all. I love all my catster friends. This place is sooo much fun. And, vacuum cleaner free.

My 7 friends?

1. Nyssa
2. Japanese Puppy
3. Jingle Bell
4. Athena
5. Areyel
6. Cheyanne
7. Cole

Revenge of the Snowman

I know what your thinking...Snowman? It's not even winter yet. But what I'm about to tell you is not for the faint of heart and may change what you think of those cold snow humans.

It started as any other day. I got 'the keeper of the food' up and in the general vacinity of my dish. She was mumbling something. The sun was up, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I WAS HUNGRY, that's all that mattered.
I ate and then thought a well deserved nap was in order. The 'keeper' went outside to feed those silly birds and squirrels again. The house was quiet.
I went into my 'nestie' and kneaded and fluffed it into comfiness and settled in.
Suddenly I heard a weird noise. I lifted my head and listened hard. It was coming from outside the window. The old instinct once again niggled at me and I launched myself onto the post.
I looked around. Nothing new, so I thought I should clean myself from all the exercise. I started to groom. Half way through I got really sleepy. The sun was shining on my back making me relax and I closed my eyes. I was just about asleep when I heard the noise again. My eyes sprang open and there it was...
The snowmans scraggly, stick arm!
It was right outside the window, clawing and pawing at the glass. I jumped and ran straight for my safe spot. I sat slumped and scared trying to figure out how that creepy arm could have crawled across the lawn. The man of snow it belonged to was long gone. Even then I knew something wasn't right with it; those black, crooked eyes and jeering smile. They should never have brought it into existence. It melted and now the arm was seeking revenge.
I sat for a few moments longer when I heard the door open and 'the keeper' came in. She was giggling as she called my name.
She finally appeared and bent down to look at me. She used soothing words andI slowly made my way out. She ran her hand down my back and gently tugged my tail. I glanced at the post. The coast appeared to be clear, for now...but winter is coming.
