Arrival Story:
Lily is a little girl that was born to a stray mother in Homewood (Birmingham), Alabama. A cat lover sometimes fed her and allowed her in the house. She has been in her new foster home only a short time, but she has already endeared herself. We estimated she was born in September. She is still very small (5 1/2 pounds). The vet thinks that she is a month or two older but will likely always be a petite cat. She has a particularly round face and cute little ears. Lily is deep grey and black with a little cocoa color around her mouth and on her belly, and very, very soft, short fur. It is clear that she loves human attention and craves warmth. When you hold her, she clings close. When snuggling in the bed, she purrs, rubs you with her forehead, "makes biscuits" with her paws, and even rolls over to let you pet her chest. When feeling unsure, she has an adorable habit of burrowing deep under the comforter or pillows.

Bio:
Lily does well with our other cats. While she is a little timid with them, she seems very adaptable and is coming out of her shell. She was initially quite fearful of our St. Bernards, but it didn't take her long to realize that they mean her no harm. She is a smart and observant girl. She has received a thorough vet check up and is up to date on shots and negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. She has just been spayed. We are sure that she will become a devoted lap cat and snuggle buddy in the right home. We will provide updates as we get to know this sweet little girl. We love to have her with us but hope to find her a home so that we can help another cat in need. For adoption information: elizabeth@fcdf.org EDIT- It seems that we have a "problem"---Lily and Bitty Boo (aka Bailey) -are falling in love! Don't worry-he is "fixed", but they follow each other and tease like school children!! They snuggle too. EDIT-Lily was adopted!! We are very happy for her and look forward to hearing from her new mom as she settles in.
