My Diego tagged me!! These are five facts about me:
1. I am the cleanest and most efficient kitty ever. My Hoomins can't believe how good I take care of myself.
2. I get very lovey dovey when I am hungry, but when I get my food I don't care much about all that mushy snuggly stuff mol!
3. My favorite part of the day is at night when Sassy sits on Mom's lap to watch tv, then I sit on top of Sassy in a big pile.
4. I am very secretive about pooping. I have to wait until all the lights are out in the middle of the night.
5. I LOVE DIEGO!!!!
and since my show, Lost, is coming on in a few minutes I have to pick my five folks that I am tagging later on MOL!! xoxoxoxo, Dottie

My good pal Binks, a fellow poetcat, wrote me this poem fur my birthday. I was stunned.
"In my heart I have a spot
That has the label, "Polka Dot".
It's not for spotty little toys and things
Or speckled robin's eggs or silly strings.
It's for a birthday cat of a special type,
Who is sweet and smart and black & white.
She's Diego's girl and my good friend.
We'll watch "Lost" together 'till the end.
She always brings a smile to my day.
To this kitty, I'd like to say:
Have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY"
--Binks 2008
I am a pretty lucky girl to have a pal who would write that fur me!!!

Today was my birthday! I spent a quiet relaxing day with Sassafras and my hoomin sister. Actually, the day did not start off too quiet. At the crack of dawn this morning Sassy woke up the whole house by knocking a large potted plant off the top of a cupboard and it crashed. So my morning started off with lots of vacuuming and cursing. Then I found out that one of the hoomins had replaced my round cardboard scratcher in my beloved roller ball track, so I clawed my way to China and showed off my roller ball skillz in the kitchen. It was also very loud.
Then things quieted down and it was warm enough to open windows. I spied on our neighbors fur a little while, then I took a nap with Sassy. I got the most furtastical birthday surprise this year, too. My Diego and his Mommy had Morgan the Pirate Gato send me a very cozy and beautiful polka dotted bed!!! It is great, and it even came with a special party bag with pirate toys and pipe cleaners and a ball and mice and treats!!! Oh MY!! There was balloon wrapping paper and a cake card with a special message. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Diego!!!
So I am nine now. Getting older really gets you thinking about things. When I furst came home with my hoomins they wanted to name me Pokey, but I was too energetic so they changed it to Polka Dot. Mommy said that I would be "Pokey" when I got older. Today my hoomins were shocked to realize I am now very much a Pokey. I have come up with a list of five things I would like to do before I turn 12.
1. Really inspect the inside of the fridge. What is in there? Why?
2. Pee in the coat closet. I have never ever in my whole life gone outisde the box. I would just like to try it once. Phoebe seems to like it, and they would never find it in the coat closet.
3. Travel to Portland, Oregon. It *would* be nice to meet my boy Diego in purrrson. hee hee!
4. Learn to use the can opener. I think you all know what I mean.
5. Do the Caterpillar.
What would your lists say? I would love it if anykitty pawmailed their lists to me.
I guess that is all fur today. I would like to say Thank You to all the kitties who sent me birthday wishies and rosettes and efurrything, it was so much fun!!
Kisses and Hugs, Pokey

Fur my boycat, Diego!!
The Kite
--------------
Ocean Breeze, WOOOSH!
The kite takes off and glides towards the sun, FLOOSH!
I look out over the glittery water and think of secret fish, swimming deep, deep into the cool dark sea.
And then I think of Diego.
hee hee heee! I hope he likes it!!! xoxoxo, Dottie

Hey Guys, My Sissy says I am watching too much tv lately, and hogging the whole couch. I am getting a hangy belly that sways back and forth when I run. My Sissy says she is going to invent something called a "Bellssiere" to hold my belly in place. I used to weigh 10 lbs, but now I am afraid to go back to the vet because he might yell at me for my hangy belly. And I am still on scheduled feedings, so I am not eating too much food. The only explaination is that we used to not have cable, but now we do and I watch it too much. If my head was a little bit bigger than its current walnut size this might not be so much of a problem, it might not be as noticable.
Sissy says she is going to cancel cable soon anyways, and she said we will get in shape together. I am going to enjoy the cable while we have it, because it sounds like I have a rough road ahead of me. So, if anycat needs me, you know where to find me. *points paw at couch*

Yes, it is true. Some of us are having some digestive issues in our house this week, and now we have done the unthinkable. We ate the poop of an orange vegetable. I didn't even know vegetables did poop, but I guess everything does. The sad thing is I was the only cat here who did not have any tummy issues, and I was the first one to try it.
My Sissy lead us all to the kitchen for lunch this afternoon, but instead of dishing out our beloved crunchies she took out a can! A CAN?? In the afternoon?! Yeah! My Sissy usually only takes out her gas mask and dishes out the Heavenly Stench in the morning time!! She was very secretive about scooping out the stuff. It didn't smell right. I stuck a claw in her hiney to alert her something was not right. She layed down our plates in front of us.
"What the....what is this stuff Sissy??" I nodded my head.
"It is pumpkin, Dottie. Try it." she replied.
"Oh, pumpkin? Like a pumpkin pie? No. This does not smell like that. This is worse. This here is orange POOP! You are feeding us pumpkin poop??" I was horrified.
"Dottie, just try it" Sissy begged.
She ran to the cupboard and took out some catnip and sprinked it over the orange waste. Was she crazy?? I sniffed at it. Still bad, but better.
Us kitties looked at our plates, we looked at each other. Has she lost her mind? Oh dear, we knew this was coming. We walked around and checked out each other's plates. Maybe she gave me my regular food and everyone else got pumpkin poop? Nope. We all were being punished. It was an outrage.
Sissy begged us to try it. We meowed, we chattered, we stared at our food cupboard. Finally she got the hint. She opened the door and took out our Beloved NIBBLES!! YAY!! Temporary Insanity!! Nooooooo! Sissy!! What was she doing?? She started to press our crunchy nibbles INTO the pumpkin poop!!! I gasped. Sassy threw herself on the floor. Phoebe ran upstairs.
My tummy growled and growled. She was not giving up on this. Me, being the purr of reason in the family decided to humor her. Maybe then she would see what a mistake this was and give us our lives back. *Sniff Sniff* I *have* always dreamed of Nip Flavored Food. This was it, except with the poop of a pumpkin around it. I licked. Not bad. I maneuvered my tongue around a crunchie and liberated it from the mush. And another, and another. I walked around to each plate and liberated the nibbles. Peeps came back downstairs. Sassy saw that I was onto something. We all traded plates, then traded again. Furman was disgusted, but curious. We ate as much as we could stand. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever been in a room with.
During our post-lunch grooming session we made a pact. What happened in the kitchen will stay in the kitchen. We did not just eat that. Nocat will ever know.
Soon after, Sissy logged onto catster and noticed Rocky Ann had a picture on her page of herself eating pumpkin. We sent a pawmail. Is there a special trick?? I looked at Furman. If Rocky Ann is eating it, it must be okay! Rocky Ann is a celebricat!! Maybe it is even trendy!! Not long after we received a pawmail for RA. Sissy gasped. "Ohhhhhhhhhh.....you can MIX a little bit of the PUMPKIN with CANNED FOOD!!!"
Is she kidding me?
I looked at the back of Sissy's head. Furman leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"Midnight tonight. Meet me in the kitchen. We are totally pooping on the kitchen floor. We are totally going to ruin her breakfast."

Dear Diary, My Sissy was sick this week, and she spent most of the time with her head in the Porcelain Litter Box and making Growly Bear Noises. This might be too much information, but it made me realize something important. I am a hypochondriac. I do not like sick hoomins or sick cats. I will do anything to not be near them. My Sissy felt better today and I came into her room to visit, and she told me it is okay that I disappear at the first sign of sickness. She loves me anyways. It got me thinking: there are three kinds of kitties in the world:
1. Nurse Practitioner Kitties
My brofur Furman Dexter is a Nurse Practitioner Kitty. These types of cats can sense sickness before the patient sometimes, and can diagnose things, but cannot write out prescriptions. Furman knows when Sissy is catching the flu or a cold, and he hunkers down with her in the bed until she feels better. He follows her to the Porcelain Litter Box and waits for her to be done making Scary Bear Noises. He keeps constant vigil next to her and meatloaf meditates the whole time. It has been said that Nurse Practitioner Kitties are doctors without the ego.
2. Nurses Assistant Kitties
The next type of kitty is the Nurses Assistant Kitty. This job only requires six months of training. My sisfurs Sassafras and Phoebe are this kind of cat. They pretty much steer clear of the patient and all the weird things sick hoomins do until their inner click says it is time to eat. Then they bombard the patient with purrs and headbonks and try to brainwash said patient into thinking they were there all along, while at the same time gently reminding them it is lunchtime.
3. Hypochondriac Kitty
I am the last type of cat, the hypochondriac. If I hear one sniffle I am outta here. I do not like germs, tissues, waste baskets posing as puke pails, ginger ale cans, or cough drops. I abhor vaporizers, cherry flavor throat spray, and the shades pulled down. The sounds of a hoomin with their head in the Porcelain Littler Box sends shivers down my spine. I don't care how hungry I get, or how bad I have to do my bidness, I will not come out of hiding until it is over. Even if the hoomin appears to be better, I will still keep a distance for a few days. No amount of head scritches and treats are worth catching hoomin cooties.
I know this sounds selfish, but we have three other kitties here. They don't mind doing the dirty work. My Sissy says she still loves me and she understands cuz germs that aren't hers gross the heck out of her, too. She also said that from now on I am picking up my own hairballs.

Hi, I got tagged today by a couple kitties, my boycat Diego among them. Here are some Dot Facts for you:
1. My Mommy rescued me from a dirty basement of a cat collector in her purse.
2. I love to play with my roller ball track and do all kinds of fancy moves, especially while the hoomins are trying to watch tv cuz it makes so much noise.
3. My fav treat is PitRPat cat candy.
4. My nose dot used to be a purrfect triangle, but over time one side has filled in.
5. I can do all kinds of tricks like a dog, my new one is standing up to kiss my human Sissy's nose on command. She gets a real kick out of that.
6. I like to sit next to the TV during the tv show Lost, which inspired me to start a catster group for Lost fans, Oceanic Flight 815. I have met tons of fun kitties AND dogs there!!!
7. I like to write poetry in my diary:o)
The kitties I would like to tag are:
Baja
Jubilee
Summerset
Boudin
Binks
Rocky Ann
