Arrival Story:
Someone on one of my cat-related Yahoo Groups was looking for a home for a foster cat. I contacted them, and they'd decided to keep the foster, but the Bengal they had thought to adopt was available. I was put in touch with the foster person for the Bengal, and made arrangements for me to adopt the cat (Benny). She was in Yonkers, NY and I was in Boston, MA. We met half-way in Hartford, CT.

Bio:
The breeder Benny was rescued from was horrible. Benny arrived in foster care with ear mites, ringworm, and a severe URI. He still had all three when I adopted him. Despite keeping him in a separate room, the other cats got URIs and ringworm (I got ringworm, too - UGH). That less than auspicious start is since past us. While we've never gotten his eyes to completely clear up (they frequently get little brown crusties in the corners), he is happy, otherwise robustly healthy, and spoiled rotten. He's very smart, very vocal and very sweet, although he can be somewhat aloof at times. Benny's a rather nervous cat and makes a great watch cat, as he growls at any suspicious noises. In October of 2006 we moved to Illinois and bought our first home. He thankfully recovered rapidly from the stress of the flight and simply adores his new home. Benny has been getting more affectionate and approaches us for loving more frequently - or begs for it by flopping himself on his back and looking at us in the cutest way.
