Arrival Story: See Salsa's biography. Ninja and Salsa were littermates. They were dumped in a ditch at a very young age. When we went to go look at the kittens (which had been rescued by a co-worker), I chose Salsa first because she was pitiful. When I gave her to my husband, I went to play with the other kittens. Ninja was big and active and right in the midst of the play. When I asked my husband if I cold hold "the kitten" (Salsa) again, he said, "No, go choose another one". He was SO wise in having us get two. Salsa and Ninja have both left us, but they taught us everything they knew. They were our first cats. They laid the foundation for what we now fondly call "the House of Paws", where 13 other cats still reside with us.

Bio: Ninja was a prince of a cat. He was gentle and tolerant of all the cats that came after him. He was sort of their uncle or grandpa. He was very attached to me (his human mom) and would sleep on my chest and neck when he was young. Later, he was too big to sleep there, so would sleep nestled in my arm. When I worked at the computer, Ninja would sit on the desk right next to me and insisted on always having his paw touching me. Ninja died from chronic renal failure (CRF). We had treated him successfully for almost three years before he lost his battle on July 16, 2005. Please read more about CRF so you can help your cats if they get it. An excellent source of CRF information can be found at:

We loved him and always will.
