She was one of the "dumped" cats in the neighborhood. She ran with Golden Tom and once we figured she was with kittens, we were feeding her on the sly. Neighbors were doing the nuisance cat thing, calling the authorities and such. Lost her nest to construction, didnt like the new location, so we took them in. 5 kittens and Mum

Bio:
Whitefeet made her way into the bedroom after Delco got sick and left the fold. She started to loose weight and towards the end was unable to hold down any food. She left for the Rainbow Bridge on August 26, 2013 to join all her other furry friends.

It is singing time

Yes, it is that time again. I have become really friendly, and hope that my singing is pleasant. I am sorry that this gets really necessary when it is dark out, but that is the best time to sing.
There is just one problem..... I am now a house cat. Even though it is really nice, warm, dry and there is plenty of food many times a day.... I can't get to the other cats. Walli is the only one who was interested the last time I was singing, but he had trouble with mating. The other two are not even interested. The Lady keeps talking about making me feel more at home before being fixed. I am not broken, so I am not sure what that means.
She is also saying she wants more squirmies. I don't think she realizes how much work and time squirmies need. And I really should remind her that kittens are difficult to give away, especially to good homes.

The people

I was a new mother, with 5 kittens. The yards that I was living in had some good and some bad. Some of the shelters were always open, and I was always able to stay dry and take naps. But there were humans who would throw things at me.
One morning, I woke up to alot of noise and the shelter had humans in it. They picked up the baby house and took it away, but I followed it closely. When they put down the baby house, I grabbed the first squirmy one and went back to the shelter. The humans started to follow me with the baby house, and scooped me up. I do not like to be held.
That nite we were placed in another shelter, which was not too bad. There was a Man and Lady there who gave me food and fresh water. They would come and sit with us, and would speak alot about the "babies" to each other. I did not like the shelter, it did not have sun and the temperature was the same all the time. But we were comfortable and dry all the time.
Eventually, the squirmies became kittens, and they started to explore. The Man and Lady gave three of the kittens to other people and there is less work to do. Dumpling is the last one left, her first name used to be Wee Girl until the Lady decided to rename her.
The Man is my person, I spend alot of time looking at him. He does not yell at me and make sudden movements like the other humans, outside. I have just allowed the humans to pet my body, but I still don't like it when they pick me up. The Lady is ok, but she is never home. She has other favorite cats and spends alot of time with them when she is home.
