Arrival Story: We adopted Dart at ARF in June of 07 because we'd just lost Voodoo , our 11 month old kitten to mediastinal lymphoma secondary to FLV and my older cat Hercules was missing his friend, walking around looking for and calling out for him. When we went to ARF I kind of had my heart set on another black kitten as Voo was black and I like black cats. They didn't have any black kittens or even black adults. We visited with several kittens before we came to Dart and the volunteer explained that he had been part of a set of two brothers that were supposed to be adopted together but someone had messed up and allowed his brother to be adopted alone. He was totally adorable but quite shy with enormous radar ears. What sealed it for me was when he began batting at my husbands suede lacing keychain, quickly followed by climbing up his leg to get to the top of the lacing. The look on my husband's face was priceless. :)) Dart was originally named Le Place...not a very good name. I usually let my cats name themselves based on their behaviors and personalities. Thus did Dart's love for darting from place to place cause him to be named Dart.
Bio: Dart has the silver tipped gray fur of the Nebelung breed but at 23 pounds of long muscular cat he is far larger than average size for that breed. He also has a small patch of white on his chest which happens sometimes with the breed but we are thinking he is probably a Nebelung/Maine coon mix.
