Arrival Story:
Farrah came to us kind of by chance. We had adopted a 2 year old cat when I first moved to Germany with the intentions of always getting another cat shortly after. Well a few months went by and no new cat. It was finally decided that after the 2011 holiday season we would be getting a kitten or at least a very young cat. Before we left for our holiday vacation we looked at some ads but saw nothing for young cats. We got back from our trip and looked again for a kitten or young cat and found a few younger cats but we just never got around to calling and asking about the ads. One night I was looking once more for a cat and I came across a very vague ad about a cat the needed a home. All it said was that it was a female cat, not spayed, not declawed and indoors only. Well it the ad got me curious so I emailed the woman who laced the ad and started asking a few questions. As it turns out she was not a kitten at all, she was six going on seven years old. Not quiet what we were looking for but then I realized, why should her age stop me from loving her. You always see the older cats at the shelters that never get adopted because everyone wants the babies and I didn't want to be that person so I kept asking questions. I finally asked for a photo since the add did not include one. Once I got the photo I was in shock! She looked just like my Hazel!!! I knew right then I had to have her and give her a good home. My husband was still a little apprehensive because of her age but he likes me to be happy so he let me go meet the cat. Later that week I had the 45 minute drive to meet miss Farrah. It was love at first sight and I couldn't wait to make her mine. I finally got to picker up the following week after she had been cleared by her vet with her yearly exam and shots. On Wednesday January 11 2012 she was finally ours and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her in our lives. She has just as much energy and spunk as any kitten I've ever seen. She is innocent and wise at the same time. She's beautiful and most importantly ours. We hope she is just as happy with us as we are with her!

I love the holidays!

OMG I love the holidays! Mom and dad had so many people over! Hazel hates new people but I couldn't get enough! So many people to love and to be loved by!!! The family loved me too!!! Mom and dad had family fly from America to Germany for the holidays so I had plenty of love for the holidays. Unfortunately, I did get very sick for the holidays! Mom found a lump awhile ago and called my vet. The vet told us to watch the lump and to watch my behavior. I wasn't acting sick and nothing about me had changed so we just monitored. My lump went down and we were all very happy! Well on Christmas night mom noticed that I was grooming my belly just a little too much! Mom checked and she was so scared! I had licked my tummy raw! Daddy took my into the emergency vet as the next morning and they made me feel so much better! They cleaned my area really well, shaved my little belly, gave me some strong pain meds and antibiotics! I had to wear a silly cone so I couldn't lick my tummy for awhile. I'm all better now! Mommy felt terrible and needless to say, mommy is changing vets! No one should just watch a lump! Now mommy knows! Well time to go cuddle with mommy and daddy! Happy new year all!

A busy day for mom! A lazy day for me!

Well daddy is deployed for a little bit so mommy took the time to clean the whole house! She even organized the basement so I got to explore down there! Mom says there is no need for me to go down there usually. She usually keeps the door to the storage room closed but it was open all day so I got to have adventures down there today! I had a lot fo fun and when mom was looking through all of the blankets she needs to wash before some family comes in I got to snuggle in them! Oh how I love big blankets! I really love them when they are fresh out of the dryer! So warm! Puuurfect for a kitty! Then mom did other laundry and I helped! Well helped meaning i took naps on the clean launry! I was just trying to make sure none of the laundry ran away! MOL! Anywho, mommy rearranged the furniture in the guest room too and I am really loving it! More room for me and No when I lay on the bed I can look out the window at all the birds! Hazel and are both liking it! She thought it was a new room so she did some investigating before she decided it was safe for us! Now we are about to go to sleep right here in the guest room! Unfortunetly for mommy, we are daddies girls and when he isnt here we sleep in the guest room. Mommy says it hurts her feelings but oh well! When daddy is home we will cuddle with her again! We think sometimes humans don't realize kittie miss their famly members just as much as they do and we have our own ways of showing it! She is just lucky we don't show how much we miss him by peeing on the bed or his clothes like we have heard of kitties doing! Have you ever seen a kitty miss their human? What was their reaction! Well, time for bed! Mommy is working tomorrow so we have to rest up for a day of naps!
