Arrival Story: Farrah came to us kind of by chance. We had adopted a 2 year old cat when I first moved to Germany with the intentions of always getting another cat shortly after. Well a few months went by and no new cat. It was finally decided that after the 2011 holiday season we would be getting a kitten or at least a very young cat. Before we left for our holiday vacation we looked at some ads but saw nothing for young cats. We got back from our trip and looked again for a kitten or young cat and found a few younger cats but we just never got around to calling and asking about the ads. One night I was looking once more for a cat and I came across a very vague ad about a cat the needed a home. All it said was that it was a female cat, not spayed, not declawed and indoors only. Well it the ad got me curious so I emailed the woman who laced the ad and started asking a few questions. As it turns out she was not a kitten at all, she was six going on seven years old. Not quiet what we were looking for but then I realized, why should her age stop me from loving her. You always see the older cats at the shelters that never get adopted because everyone wants the babies and I didn't want to be that person so I kept asking questions. I finally asked for a photo since the add did not include one. Once I got the photo I was in shock! She looked just like my Hazel!!! I knew right then I had to have her and give her a good home. My husband was still a little apprehensive because of her age but he likes me to be happy so he let me go meet the cat. Later that week I had the 45 minute drive to meet miss Farrah. It was love at first sight and I couldn't wait to make her mine. I finally got to picker up the following week after she had been cleared by her vet with her yearly exam and shots. On Wednesday January 11 2012 she was finally ours and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her in our lives. She has just as much energy and spunk as any kitten I've ever seen. She is innocent and wise at the same time. She's beautiful and most importantly ours. We hope she is just as happy with us as we are with her!

Oh its been so long since the hoomans has logged on to Catster! She has been busy with work and her new Etsy shop! She doesn't want to advertise on here until she finally makes kitty things! She already makes toys for us and maybe she will sell them to other kitties!
Anywho, what is new with us! To put it frankly,....not a whole lot. We have been good and really enjoying the time we have left here in Germany. We have been here awhile and will be sad to leave but guess where our next stop will be!? Sunny Florida! That's right my kitty friends, we are moving back to America next year! Hazel and I are both originally American cats but we were given away by two separate American families while we were here. We were sad to leave those homes but now we know we are with our forever hoomans! We do not have forever home puursay because we are military brat cats but we have forever family and forever hoomans!
The only big news I can think of was Friday was my birthday! I turned the big 8 this year and I am sassier than ever! If you looked at me and saw how well I moved and climbed you would never think I was 40 in hoomans years! Mom and dad gave me extra treats and mom sang me some weird song that I eventually walked away from but all in all it was a nice day! I even got a gift! A nice catnip mouse!
Hazel is doing well! She is steadily gaining her winter weight on. She is a skinny mini so mom and dad have to watch her and make she isn't getting too skinny during the warmer months. Mom has had to resort to separating us when we eat. I eat on the main floor and Hazel eats on the top floor. I am a bit of a fatty so I gobble down my food and then bully Hazel for her food! Hazel gets so nervous about this when she eats on my floor, she eats too fast and then ends up um....losing her lunch...So mom makes she Hazel is protected now and can enjoy her meals. I know I am a bully and I just don't care. Hazel will be on tomorrow to give her side of the story. Get ready for some tears because I am sure it will be a sob story! (See how much of a bully I am!) Well I am off to kick Hazel out of her bed! Sniff ya later!
P.S. On a lighter note I would like to give my condolences to Strickland family who lost their little fur baby Samoa this week. I hope your walk over the rainbow bridge was full of cat treats and feather boas!
I made two new friends today! One of them looks like a fluffy version of me! We have the same face marks! They just joined Catster yesterday! Go check out their page! They sure are cute and of course they could always use more friends! Welcome to Catster
OMG I love the holidays! Mom and dad had so many people over! Hazel hates new people but I couldn't get enough! So many people to love and to be loved by!!! The family loved me too!!! Mom and dad had family fly from America to Germany for the holidays so I had plenty of love for the holidays. Unfortunately, I did get very sick for the holidays! Mom found a lump awhile ago and called my vet. The vet told us to watch the lump and to watch my behavior. I wasn't acting sick and nothing about me had changed so we just monitored. My lump went down and we were all very happy! Well on Christmas night mom noticed that I was grooming my belly just a little too much! Mom checked and she was so scared! I had licked my tummy raw! Daddy took my into the emergency vet as the next morning and they made me feel so much better! They cleaned my area really well, shaved my little belly, gave me some strong pain meds and antibiotics! I had to wear a silly cone so I couldn't lick my tummy for awhile. I'm all better now! Mommy felt terrible and needless to say, mommy is changing vets! No one should just watch a lump! Now mommy knows! Well time to go cuddle with mommy and daddy! Happy new year all!
