A day in the life of a troublemaker

Lovin attention!

I miss having Mom around! Whenever she comes in the room to bed or for whatever reason I beg her for pets. I love her so much, she calls me her rumbling purring machine. I kept her up for a while last night so she didn't fall asleep for a while, MOL.

I realized I left you hanging a while ago. I said we were getting sick with what the foster kitten had. Which isn't necessarily a lie, it is possible we or more likely I have the feline herpes if that is indeed what the foster kitten had. Which we don't know... My eyes were watery and still are a bit but not nearly as bad as before. Before I had one of those wheezing/cough/sneeze things like the foster kitten had but I have had none since so I am good to go for now. I feel as good as ever! Although Mom did see me drag my butt yesterday and is coming up with crazy thoughts... she wasn't supposed to see that! Oh well, if I don't do it anymore she'll probably think it was just her imagination.

Mom wants to convert our non cover litterbox to a covered one. She wants to know you guys's opinions on the switch or covered litterboxes in general. Mom says she likes it open because it is easier to clean, it's easier to get into, etc... but it smells, and the walls have bits of litter and nasty specks getting on it... Are most cats fine with the transition to a covered box?

If you remember Mom got us two new toys!! They are awesome! By far they are my favorite. I bring one wherever I go, and the other one I play with whenever I can't find the first right away. And no matter what Moppie says they are Mine not his!! Don't let him steer you wrong.

Anyways I'm making Mom stop here because this diary entry is keeping us from getting our food, and we all need to get to bed. Moppie wants me to add that he will write his entry later today (for us tomorrow since we are going to bed). Anyways, hope everyone has a fury good day!

I am glad both you and Moppie are feeling fine and having funs together. Yippeee.
Here is the troubles with covered litter boxes: There is not enough room in there when you get all growed up like me, someone (Moppie) Will see you go in then wait on the lid to ambush you. Not enough air gets in there. But your mom can so a few things to help. She can get a big under the bed storage container and use that as your box. You will have higher sides and less litter escapes.Plus, with 2-3 kitties you need a very big box or 2 boxes. That way it stays smelling clean longer.And/your mom can put up wall protectors. My mom painted cardboard and put that around our box. If your mom really wants to try a covered box, tell her to get a really big one and still keep your other one and see if you will use it.

Glad you're feeling better. I agree with Macy on the covered boxes. I would suggest sticking with an open box if possible.

I have a covered box and don't mind it at all. Mom did just get me a new really big one, so that helps. My litter box is out in the open, and mom can't deal with the smell/look of an uncovered box right by the kitchen.

I'm a litter kicker, so we have the extra deep litter boxes here. Most of the time kits like the privacy of covered litter boxes but they can small.

I'm sl glad you are feeling better, being sick is no fun. We have big, deep covered kitty boxes. We don't mind them.

Thanks for all the litter box comments/suggestions! I think we will stick to the open litter box for now. We have the closed one so we may use that another time then. You know the ones with the rim? On the open litterboxes... I'm assuming that is so that litter doesn't come out but do us kitties mind that? I love to wipe my paws all over the sides and it may not be as easy to do with a rim. Otherwise we'll just leave it the way it is for now. Thanks!

Mom got me and Zoe the one with a rim one time. We didn't mind it to bad. A matter of fact Mom is thinking we should fine=d another one. Right now she's got to find one that Gris can get into easily. Because he's an outside kitty, we have to potty train him. Yay! That was sarcasm.

We have both and use both.
One large box is a nice cabinet that could pass for furniture. Mom got it online. But it was years ago.
What kind of litter do you use? We really like Pine Fresh cause it can be flushed down the toilet and there is no dust.

We use the worlds best kitty litter, we don't have any experience with any other litters but this one seems good. We are always up to trying new things though ;).

We had been using World's best until Katerina got here. Then mom decided to find something less expensive. We picked Pine Fresh which is also natural and cheaper. In texture and clumping it is very similar to World's B. Sometimes the corn (WB) would smell weird. So we are happy for now. Mom is forever searching for "better." She just saw online~ litter made from green tea leaves. It's light! Not having a dad that would be great! But it's too expensive and probably not yet in Canada. I think she would be happy if we used the toilet. MOL

Yes, Mom is always up to trying new things! We agree that WB is a bit expensive, and we agrees that it smells a little funny too. What is the one with green tea leaves called? But ya its probably expensive... Hehe, maybe Mom will teach us to use the toilet one day, but we thinks grandma wouldn't like it fury much. MOL.

It's actually called Green Tea Cat Litter. Maybe available on your coast faster than here. They say it's a bit more expensive but lasts longer...Yea, yea, like we haven't heard that one before.
Mom would love to teach us to use the toilet but the truth is she doesn't have the patience. It can be done. Just check out youtube!

Maybe its here but maybe not... That is fury true! Everyone says their litter is best, but in truth they all have their pros and cons. Same to be with foods, Mom looks into foods a lot and whenever you talk to them they tell you you can never find a better food then theirs. I thinks they are full of it. MOL.

Maybe one day we'll learn to use the toilet but for now we like the litterbox, and I don't think Mom wants to teach us right now either.

OMC!Don't even bring up food! Everyone but everyone has THE BEST FOOD!The vet pushes VET FOOD, like they have no agenda; Raw people? Raw is their religion. Mom? Mom is frustrated.
She doesn't believe any commercial food is all that great.
Fears raw because there are dangers there too. Not to mention that except for Ollie and maybe Katerina, we would not eat it.
Wishes she could cook for us but it's too complicated to get it perfect with every ingredient required for us to be healthy!
So in the meantime we are ALL getting fat!

MOL, I thinks we brought up a sketchy topic. Oops.

I agrees, we sees it from all points of view. Mom works in a vet so she knows vets think their food is all that, Mom feeds her Stewie (her doggie) raw so she supports raw too, but she feeds us grain free foods right now, and she is switching Stewie over to Orijen for a while because he is loosing a bit of weight on raw and wants him to gain it back. MOL, we are all over the place, Mom likes to think she knows a lot about foods although she doesn't necessarily like to take sides. Mom does like the idea of raw, and it does seem to do well for Stewie other then his weight. Although it could have had something to do with Moppie getting sick too... But that is another story and we don't know if that was the reason or not.

More like a frustrating topic. We are eating grain free and like I said, we are all getting FAT! So of course mom is not happy but has no alternative ideas.

Hi there Blade of Thor! Love your name!
So Pops was in a bit of trouble with we Boyz and litter. Seems Rumpy was attacking cats when they used the pan. Not a good thing. The mysterious water from the sky started at that time so finally Rumpy stopped. Then we saw the thing in Pops Paw. Hmm. So anyhow.
The pet outlet around here is PetCo. They have really big deep litter pans that are this white plastic the stuff does not stick too. Grrrreat. We have 3 now Two big ones on the end. One big covered on in the middle. That way we can choose if we want to be private or au-natural.
Food. Oy. Buddy had to go on all wet. He was too fat.
*Buddy yells"Wuz Notz"*
Ah... He needed better nutrition.
*Buddy yells"Ya datz-it"*
Pops even bought a grinder for Raw but then with all the hopala and switching AGAIN... That is now in the closet.
We like our wet meals 2 times a day with nice treats when we get up and in the afternoon.

Thanks Sam! I may need to figure something out for the litterbox, I am a notorious litterbox cleaner! But not so much a wall cleaner, MOL.

Thanks Unkie Milo ♥

Thanks Sleeper and Samhain! We agree! Food is food! As long as its yummy I's eatin it, MOL. The storage container is a good idea! But where do you guys keep it? It may look a little silly in the open in the corner of the room?!

Thanks Timmy Tomcat! MOL about getting a new grinder for Raw. Guessing you haven't used it yet? Mom's sorta looking into one too. If she sees one on sale she might get it, we'll see. ;)

Thanks Midnight! I am having a pawesome day! We gots new toys and I'm lovin them! Mom came in and cuddled with me for a while, we caught up on all the diaries so that I could write mine. :)

Well, see - the thing is, the folks live alone. So when we came along, they gave us the spare room. It first gave them a place to segregate me when I was sick; then it was a place to have us sleep for the night so we didn't bother them with 3 AM zoomies; then it also became the access point for the cattery, since the window that leads into the cattery is the one in the spare room. So, it doesn't matter having this big open box in there. And the Mama is pretty good about cleaning it twice a day, and sometimes more, if she happens to be there when we use it. It keeps it pretty fresh, because nothing sits in there for very long.
