We’ve finally convinced the Mama to stop working for a moment and write us an update, as well as check in with our friends. We're sorry if we've missed a lot of significant events while we've been gone.
We’re all doing well here, though Socks was missing for a few days, showing up yesterday with what looks like a bite to the base of his tail. The wound was clean-looking and the Mama didn’t feel any need to dress it or give him antibiotics, but he has been more skittish since. He will hardly let the Papa get close, and after eating, has felt more comfortable going back outside with the rest of the Ferals. No skin off my nose, of course – I think there’s enough of us in here as it is!
Owl is settling in pretty well, I’ll reluctantly admit. The last week or so the pawrents have taken him out on the leash and he’s done OK. Of course, not to give him too much credit, we ARE out in the country, and there’s not too much to worry him out there.
Sleeper is bigger than ever; the pawrents are putting her on a diet, which means ALL of us have to suffer – way to go, Sleep, you troublemaker! We’ll probably all waste away to nothing before she loses enough weight for the pawrents to feel they can stop restricting food. Hummmph!
Meanwhile, the weather here is like heaven. Figures that the Mama has been mostly stuck inside working on the machine during the best of it. Fortunately, she and the Papa still have found time to walk us. We are the most important aspects of their lives after all. :)
Mol!!!!!!! Give you one guess what I'm laughing at.
Socks!!! Don't be running away and fighting too! Chill.
Little Owl Im Glad your fitting in. You and Sammie can sneak some food so no worries. We missed you too, big time!
I think you are probably laughing at me, Zach, you meanie. I'm not that big; I'm just big-boned!
Sleeper - you're huge, sweetie! We haven't said anything, because we didn't want to hurt your feelings...
...or cause the rest of us to be put on a diet with you - MOL!
Zoe, we've already been sneaking food, but don't tell Sleeper and Samhain - heehee!
OMC, a diet! I had to go on one of those a long time ago - back when I weighed a glorious 18 pounds. Those things are not fun!
Jezzie - you weighed 18 lbs??? That's awesome!
Yeah. I keep trying to get back up there, but no luck so far.

Big changes, MILO? We'll have to check in from time to time and see what's up!
Hi Sweetie! MOL! We have someone in our house who might need a diet too. (ahem, cough, cough, Ivan, cough) Maybe we can send them both to weight loss camp this summer. Good to see you all again.
I heard that! I'm just big, that's all. I still can run and jump, although usually all 4 paws don't leave the ground at the same time. Don't get any ideas about sending me away to camp! They probably have swimming there, and I don't like water.
Ivan, I won't let them send me anywhere either! I don't know what they're thinking starving me like this, but you haven't heard the last word, I promise!
Skylar, my sweet, the pawrents are withholding food after our evening meal, plus they aren't putting out extra dry food during the day like they used to. I think there's got to be some grounds for filing for abuse here - what do you think?
Shhhhh! Don't be giving my Mom any ideas. MOL! Every once in a while she takes away our dry food (that is usually out all the time). I hate it when that happens! It is usually because someone has an upset tummy and then it re-appears the next day.
Samhain, hon, let me fill you in on a little trick I learned. Dry food usually comes in paper bags, sometimes with a plastic coating. You need to find where the bags are stored, and just chew a little hole in the bottom. Hello Automatic Feeder!
True, he is the master of this. When Mom brings home crunchies from the store, they are the first thing she has to put away. Even before the freezer stuff! Because he gets his teeth on that bag and BINGO!
Skyster, you devil you - good going, bro! Yeah, I know where the food is kept and it's not even in a cupboard. Hmmmmm.......
