Arrival Story: I came across O'Malley while walking back to my car after a day of mural painting down near the beach. He was sweet & friendly but skin & bones and filthy dirty. His collar was hanging an inch or more too big so I figured he was lost & had lost a lot of weight just trying to survive. Took him home and he ate & ate. Drank a full bowl of water too. Took him to the vet who said he was 10 to 12 years old. Got him some good quality Mature cat food and senior vitamin supplements. Cleaned him up with baby wipes and gave him a soft pillow and fleece blanket to lie on. Tried not to fall in love with him but that was impossible. I put an ad on Craigslist and hoped no one would answer but alas, someone answered and said there was a poster up at a coffee shop near where I found him with his photo on it. I called and left a message that I had found their cat. Darn. How could he be so neglected and belong to someone? A young man called and told me the cat had showed up about 2 years before and hung around after he fed him but he couldn't live in the house because his other cat hated him. I asked if he knew the cat was 12 years olsd and nearly blind? No, he didn't know that and admitted he hated leaving the cat outside because there had been coyotes recently up and down the street. I told him I would be happy to adopt him and keep him safe and well cared for indoors. He agreed that the cat would be better off with me and allowed me to keep him.
Bio: Poor O'Malley tried hard to get into everyone's homes on that street but no one would take him in. He must have been an indoor only cat for the first part of his life & just wanted to be warm & safe again.
