My Bridge Anniversary June 13/13

My dad has this date on his calendar but he did not need to check it, he remembered my Rainbow Bridge anniversary today. He remembered I lived to be almost 17 yr old but the tumor I had makes him upset, he wishes that did not happen to me.

Thank you kitties for the pretty gifties, comments, mail and pics made for me! My dad will post them when he is home from vacation.

Meanwhile many of you at the Bridge with me mentioned we will sit and meow our memories of life back home, so that is what we will do! Our families will remember us always.

My Dad was looking at the place in the back yard where he found me, thinking back to the day the black kitten, me, was there in the yard in 1994 and how he eventually got me.

He remembered when I was older, how I used to touch his eyes with my paw, when he was sleeping, to waken him up. And always he remembers my loud and forever long purring for what seemed like hours!

My Birthday June 24, 2012

My Birthday was here at the Bridge again this year. In 2011 my Rainbow Bridge Day was June 13 and it was so close to my birthday; if I had been on earth 11 more days I'd have turned 17; a good long life I had though. My Dad and I had many years together and being together and living the daily life happenings with each other is what counts.

My Dad remembers a few little things about me all the time. Like when he took a home movie of me when I was a kitten being dried off after he bathed me. I did not like the bath!

Because I was such a small kitten when he found me, he always tried to be sure I ate enough and he'd feel my stomach and say to me "Her little stomach is full".

He thinks of me even today when he puts gas in the car and says "Her little stomach is full". Even though he means the gas tank is full he is also thinking of me whenever he thinks that.

And I guess all young kitties are quite slender in the beginning and as I grew a little from being a kitten he would say to me "She's a little skinniness".

I am still trying to get him to put my kitten pictures on my page. He has found them, he just has to scan them now!

Anniversary of My Rainbow Bridge Day

I went to the Bridge one year ago today, it was June 13, 2011 that I had to be put to sleep. Dad still thinks I could have stayed longer but on the other hand he thought if the tumor was painful, going to the Bridge will let me be without pain.

He had his first dream of me September 18, 2011 which is a long time from June to have me visit in a dream. He saw a black cat sitting, and the face was normal without a tumor in the forehead, and the cat was looking at Dad with its pink tongue out a little, like I sometimes did. The vet always said that was so cute if I happened to be sticking out my tongue at a vet visit! In the dream Dad said "Oh your tongue is out" and he went about doing other things around the house. The cat remained sitting in a crouched down position with paws tucked under and full round body. I looked pretty normal in the dream and he went about doing normal things. This means I was showing him that everything here at the Bridge is as normal as on earth except that we are healed!

In another dream I showed Dad how young I was at the Bridge; he dreamed of me February 18, 2012 when he had a nap in the evening. In the dream he was happy looking at a grey and white (mostly grey) kitten (grey and white spots) lying with another kitten. Strangely, he said "Is it really Serena?" and the kitten's fur turned black and it was me! And he petted me! I was reminding him that when I was a kitten and he first took me to the Vet I was so small that even the Vet thought, "She might be a grey kitty".

But a lot of the time Dad thinks of me and says "Serena you're supposed to be with me. Come back and let me kiss you", but I can't. Who could ever have imagined our 17 years together would have flashed by so fast that our time together would already have come to an end.

Rainbow Meadow

Today I looked down from the Rainbow Bridge and I saw my home, and I thought it is time to put the laundry away! But maybe not - where are the kitties going to catnap in the sun if the laundry is folded up and put away?

And while thinking about laundry, I posted a couple of new photos and one is a picture of me sitting on the laundry in front of the window. Elsa, in my family, does that all the time. She often sits in the same place I used to, in front of that same window! We like the background outside because we know sooner or later Dad will come along with a camera, and take our picture and we like to be nicely surrounded by a pretty background!

I'm also glad when Catster furriends can return to Catster and Munchkin is one of them. She's even written a new diary entry today. I hope many of you would like to go over and see her and also ask to be her furriend! Munchkin is at

I'm going to go now to the Rainbow Meadow where our kitty laundry is drying on the line and gather a few bits of clothing, put them in a laundry basket and go somewhere, jump onto the laundry, and just bask in the sun!

My Gotcha Day August 4, 1994

Thanks Catster kitties for your nice pawmails and rosettes; comments and photos you made me for the anniversary of my Gotcha Day today!

There is a pretty Maine Coon kitty whose Gotcha Day is today too - named Lady and her day is Aug. 4, 2000. She is 11 years old and so glamourous! (Catster #755971). Later today I'll go and visit with her page again.

Just today, before we realized today was my Gotcha Day (such a busy Dad I have!) my Dad took a film to be developed from the camera he used to use before he got his digital camera. On this film is a pic of me from 2009 and if it's a nice one he will put it on my Catster page. He's going to pick up the film in a few minutes.

My Urn and ashes have been at home for awhile now. Dad said when he got my Urn, "Serena, you are coming back home now, forever". He set me on the bookcase beside the Urns of Felix and Samantha. My plant that the Vet sent is still growing (and so is Felix's and Samantha's too!).

My Dad still thinks about me, and sees me in his mind, every day and it still makes him awfully sad sometimes. He wonders a lot that maybe I could have lived longer. He will now never know the answer. He does know I no longer feel any discomfort from the tumor which he often feared would burst one day. Right now at the Rainbow Bridge, I'm normal looking and cute and sweet, and silly sometimes, like he remembered I used to be.

I hope my Dad can find the pics he took of me on my Gotcha Day in 1994. I was such a baby kitty that day he got me!

A Month Of Events Was June

I wish to thank everyone again for the rosettes and gifties and kindness you sent; I had to go to the Bridge; I had a Birthday, and then chosen as Daily Diary Pick all in June.

I don’t know how you all keep up with giving thanks! We feel terrible because our internet is not that fast; we hope you all know in our hearts that we remember all of you – and still we hope to send our thanks as best we can. Please hope for us that we get it done; and we love you all for your kindness and thoughts.

My Urn is now at the Vet’s, and Dad will go and pick me up pretty soon. He was missing the way I purred. I always purred loud and for a very long time, for my entire 16 years (almost 17 years) so now the house is a bit more silent than it used to be.

Tabatha, Elsa, Ginger and Tyson are very quiet purr kitties; you barely can hear them. But me, I was so very loud and for such a long time – it was like music singing through the house.

My Dad found three pictures of me for my Catster page. In one, I’m sitting on laundry (every kitty does this!). In another, it’s a close up of my face that our friend used in a calendar for us one year. The third photo is me leaning my face on Tabatha, and I’m looking up with big eyes.

It was strange for Dad to see in the laundry photo that I had a nose – with the tumor pushing out, in my forehead it had made my poor little nose unseen for many months.

But I’m maintaining youth and vigor at the Bridge, and maybe a little of my beauty has returned.

Daily Diary Pick Today! June 25, 2011

I am so honored to be chosen as Daily Diary Pick today. My writing about my Dad thinking about me at one of my sleeping spots and mentioning "Borrowed Angels" was just something on my mind at the time.

Another nice thing happened today too. The plant my Vet sent to my Dad in sympathy for me arrived to him today. There was a card too with a black kitty on the cover, and in the card was the 4 paw prints of mine, taken after me being put to sleep on June 13. A bit of my black fur tied with a pink ribbon was in the card too. I'm very well-thought of today.

My Dad still has the plants he got from the Vet for the crossing to the Bridge of Samantha from 2006 and Felix in 2009.

My ashes and Urn have not come yet but when they do I will sit on the shelf beside Samantha and Felix's Urns.
