As the days go by

Sorry mom hasn't been on much lately. We have been real busy around here. I have been doing good. I still sleep alot more then I use to but I am still alive and Kicking. I have even put on some weight, which makes mom very happy. All the new foods and extra help with getting around has made a big difference for me. Mom is really hoping for me to see my 21st birthday! How cool would that be?

Well, it's still real cold here. The weather around here doesn't know which way it wants to go. One day it can be warmer and the sun out and the next cloudy and snowing. Mom wants to be able to keep the windows open so bad for us kitties. We are all really hoping for a early spring. How is all my other kitty friends dealing with this long cold winter? How do you keep yourselfs busy?

The big 2-0...

Wow I turned 20 today!!!! its hard to believe I am this old already MOL. Thank you everyone for my gifts...it's sweet friends like you that make my birthday all the sweeter. Mom is so happy I have made it to be 20. There have been a few times my family thought I wouldn't have made it. Before I moved in here with my family, people were mean to me. I had oil dumped on me, which made me very sick. I had others trying to hurt me, then soon after moving in my home here I had been acting funny and no one knew why. One after noon I layed down on moms lap and just stopped breathing. Mom thought I was gone, Dad came over and started rubbing my chest and I took a breath. Mom saw something sticking out of my nose and she gabbed it to find out I had a larg blade of grass stuck in my nose which had caused an infection. Thankfully I recovered from it. Then with me acting off these past few months mom has worried and even woke me up at times to check on me. Now I eat wet foods with extra vitiams and oils in it and that has seemed to help. So making it to my 20th birthday is a big deal for my family. Thank you again for sharing this special day with me.

My new food

For the past few months I have been starting to show my age more. Mom learned that I had a hard time with the dry food and got me some wet food. Since then I have been feeling better. Mom has been buying foods with omega 3 in it and other good stuff that help me feel better. Since I have been on my wet food for a weeks now, I am have been more active,and I am able to get around better. Mom thinks some of the oils in my food have helped my joints feel better and being able to get enough to eat helps too!

I still sleep alot more then I use to but all in all, I am doing better. I have even gotten back to being playful at night and rolling around a little. Mom is so pleased to see me happier then I was. She was worried something more then my food was an issue. For now the food seems to work. Mom says since I am so old(thanks mom) she wants to get my paw print made. Mom has Morris's paw print, but sadly Oliver passed away without warning and she couldn't get his. Mom says she doesn't want to lose out on my paw print, so in the next few weeks I am getting it done.

Not been myself

These past few day I haven't felt myself. I have been staying real close to mom. Mom keeps asking me whats wrong and I keep trying to tell her it's my age and the weather getting cold again. Mom worries about me so much, when I act different she keeps a close eye on me. I have been eating and going to the bathroom ok, but I am still losing weight and this bothers mom too. I keep loving on her and trying to make her feel better and not to worry. Us kitties are strong, even when we are old. We don't want our moms to worry.

How are our other kitty friends doing? Hope everyone is staying warm and getting lots of love.

Wet food

Well, tonight when mom was feeding me my dinner, Patches and Pepper came up and starting mewing for some too. At first mom wasn't going to give in, but after a few seconds she grabbed another pouch and poured them both some. HUMMMPPHH... mom always gives in. Oh well, at least I can eat in peace now.

Showing my age

Well Mom and Dad talked and they both feel I am to the point I can no longer jump up on the table to get to the food bowl. They also feel I am having a hard time eating the dry food. So Mom when out and picked up some wet food. I like my new food alot. Mom gives it to me twice a day. The other kitties Patches and Pepper try to get my food but mom stays right there until I finish all I want.

Once I am done eating, Mom lets the others have the left overs. Kinda like a treat. I hope Pepper and Patches don't get upset with the fact I get wet food and they don't. I'm just too old to have to deal with kitty fits. Mom says not to worry, we will deal with it as we go.

Mom also is watching me close for signs of kindey and bladder issues. Mom knows all to well how us old guy kitties can get some issues when we are older. She remembers all they had to do to help our brother Morris. Mom says she really hopes that doesn't happen with me, but she will keep her eye out to makes sure.

Nail trims, I hate nail trims

Does anyone else have an issue with their nails getting cut? I hate it. I think I am getting to old to have this stuff done to me. Mom says it's for my own good and so I dont get caught on anything. Why can't I just have my nails long and pretty? everytime mom wants to cut my nails she has to have dad hold me, which I don't like and then she messes with my feet which bothers me. For the rest of the night I'm in a bad mood. Maybe I just to old and grouchy, but really I just hate my nails and feet being messed with.

My birthday

Thank you everyone for my great gifts, wishs and picture for my birthday. Sorry we didn't get back to you sooner but mom has been so very busy and hasn't been feeling great... Hope everyone is doing well and we look forward to be on more soon. For now I hope all my friends have a fun and safe holiday!

Update :)

So far so good.. I still have to put my meds on my tail.. it isn't fully healed yet but it is alot better. So we think everything is fine and no worries from here on out. Mom wants to say sorry about not being on more and checking in with everyone. She has been so very busy with the kids and dad that she hasn't had a moment to herself, let alone time for us to come on here and chat and visit with everyone. At least mom got some time tonight to update our pages and update our group and our kitty of the month.

I don't know about everyone eles, but it sure has gotten cold out by us. It' been in the 50's and 60's during the days and almost in the 30's at night... meow... did it get cold fast.. one week it was in the 80's and the next it's in the 50's and 60's ..wow.. well at least I have lots of blankets to pick from to snuggle up in and I can always sleep by mom at night to stay warm :) Soon the family will be off to the cider mill and the leaves will being falling... I can't wait, I love to sit in the window and watch them fall.. it's relaxing for me and they are all kinds of pretty colors..

Well I am going to get going, Mom has alot of work yet to do, so I don't have much time to see what everyone is up to

Update

My tail is doing great!!!.. it is healing just fine and it is moving all the time and is healthy and pink and warm.. Patches and I still want to get into fights but mom keeps us apart at night and during the day when we are about to get into it, Mom takes out the spray bottle and we both get spraied with water. Mom says she doesn't want to have to do it but what other choice does she have if we can't be good! I guess she has a point and I don't get mad with her cause I still come over and love on her and purr.

Mom wants to say sorry for not being on as much and not being able to get around to all our friends. She has been really busy with fixing our car. See our car stopped working right and for months she has been trying to get some answers but with no luck. Then a friend said they work on cars and would be will to take a look at ours and see what he could do for us. Tonight mom and our friend took the top front half off the engin and found that a valve isn't working and who ever last worked on our car didn't put the injector rings on and they were moving around the engin. Mom also needs a new belt and power staring pump. Alot of work but our friend says he can do it and it's not going to cost as much as a shop would want. Also the shop tried telling mom that she would need a rebuild on the engin but she couldn't bring herself to believe it and our friend said she was right that the car didn't need it. So soon we will have a working car again and mom will know more about our car then she ever wanted to MOL>..

But now on to the season change. Has anyone seen leaves falling yet? Or any cooler weather? We have had some leaves change color and fall and it's been cooling down fast. Mom even got into the mood and start putting up fall things and halloween things. We all love playing with the plastic spiders MOL.. What's you favorit thing about fall? We love the trees and how they change and the leaves that we can play with...
