Thank you so much, my friends, for your purrs, POTPs and good wishes. Mom and I are both big believers in the power of karma, and your warm thoughts give me strength.
The vet is alarmed, but also puzzled. I have lost more than two pounds since my last exam in March (most of it, Mom says, in the last month). But my thyroid level at that exam was actually a little low. He reduced the Tapazole dose a little bit then, but not much.
I have no fever, and the vet could not detect any abnormalities in my heart, lungs or abdomen. My heart was beating a little fast, but he said it was not out of the usual range for a cat undergoing a vet exam. He said the kidneys felt a little small, but not a lot small.
I got an antibiotic for my stubborn skin infection and some cyproheptadine to perk up my appetite. Also some subq fluids. They took some more of my blood, of course, but I didn't feel up to taking some of theirs in return.
When we got home, though, I put up a good fight against taking the cypro. I mean, I'd been sitting in the vet's office for an hour and half. I got poked and prodded and stuck with needles, and I was cranky. She eventually got the pill down, but now wishes she had gotten the kind she could rub in my ear. She told the vet I was easy to medicate and, until today, I was. But enough is enough.

Just rest up after that grueling ordeal at the vet's office, Jasper! We hope the fluids and meds kick in and you're feeling much better tomorrow! Keep on eating, pal! We're sending more purrs to you!
Jasper you need to eat! I know it sucks taking medicine buddy. But you can't keep losing weight.
Purring that you find yourself hungry and feeling the need to take your meds.
Take care of yourself.
You need to eat buddy! Sending purrs that you'll start feeling hungry.
Purring for you Jasper! That's a lot of weight to lose so quickly.
Wishing you well buddy!
Thanks, friends. I am feeling a little better today. Took the cypro without a fight and ate most of a small can of tuna and several Temptations treats. My regular cat food isn't very appealing to me right now, bu Mom says I can eat whatever I fancy. She's going to stock up on salmon and baby food and sardines and stuff today.
Heh-heh, I love it that the sibs don't get any of my special food. Vicki gets diarrhea when she eats fish, and Mom says it's just easier to feed me in private, away from the other cats. She was even feeding me off a spoon. I do enjoy getting the royal treatment. I so deserve it, don't you think?
