Another day in the neighborhood 9-1-11September 1st 2011 12:29 pm[ Leave A Comment | 1 person already has ]
I am jsut chilling as alwasy. See I'm the "cool" cat aroudn here...very stand offish, but mewomy loves me anyway, even thoguh I'm still scared of dad. Meowmy never forces anything upon me adn in return I let her love me up some. Meowmy wishes Iknew how to play with toys and she tries, but I am unsure of them to this day adn she sez that's OK. I don't have to play if I don't want to. That I will always have a lovign home here with no conditions.

Finally...a homeJanuary 6th 2010 6:32 am[ Leave A Comment ] Since Romeo is a feral he does not trust humans. It has taken me 10 long months to get him to trust me and he does. or the first time on New Year's day he let me pet his belly without taking off or flinching. Although I haven't gotten him on my lap yet, I hope to one day. I resuced him from the streets, therefore I fostered him and ultimately adopted him. Our rescue did not get any suitable inquiries for addoption on him, we actually only got one inquiry in 10 long months and it was not acceptable as they wanted to "gift" him. It is safe to assume that if he adopted out he would shortly be returned or worse, set free on the streets again based on his trust issues and fear issues. It would be hard to get an adopter to understand that he would regress and need lots of time and space to trust a new environment and that he may never be a lap cat or cuddle. Therefore I took the responsibilty that by rescuing him I would need to adopt him myself based on him personality and issues. I am the only one he strusts at this point and he is comfortable in my home with my cats so I decided not to disturb his life any further and give him a loving and safe home. He's had enough stress and deserves a trusitng and stable home.

Romeo has been "home" for almost 3 months and lived most of his beginning life as a feral/outside cat. He is a very handsome boy...
