indoors Arrival Story: I found Spot and his 6 feral littermates (Blaze, Mister Grey, Tiger, Pumpkin, Rosalie, and Harlequin) in a flowerpot in the back of my vegetable garden in July 2008. They were only about 3-4 weeks old so I took them inside and bottle-fed them until they were old enough to wean. Three of the kittens found homes but Spot ended up staying with me. Since I bottle-fed them the kittens all still think I am their mother! Bio: Spot's color is called brown ticked tabby with white. A ticked tabby is like an Abyssinian's color.
Spot was named for the little black dot on his nose. When the kittens were babies it was sometimes hard to tell them apart when it was feeding time and they were all clamoring to be fed, and the spot was how I could tell him from the others and somehow the name stuck.
Spot is the biggest kitten in his litter and was the biggest from almost the start. Now he has the distinction of also being the biggest cat in the house since he's now passed even Sneakers weight!
Spot and his littermates may be related to my other cat Church who is a year older than them. When I caught Church (also as a feral kitten) I saw his mother but was unable to catch her. When I found Spot and the rest I also saw their mother the next day and she looked very much like Church's mother... Since Church and the kittens look a lot alike I think it is very likely they have the same mother so they are probably Church's half-siblings.
