Stinker Alert

November 27th 2011 3:11 pm

According to Mommy, I was a real stinker yesterday. Chasing Lucy, guarding and growling to keep Leo away from MY food, and nipping Mommy. Let's see, I nipped her upper arm, I nipped her shoulder, and I got her legs and ankles all day long. It was her fault, really. She was taking photos and when she was taking Lucy and Leo's photos, I didn't like it. So I bit her. Repeatedly.

Hope she learned her lesson.

Charlie

Nipping Sisters

Puppy, Nuggets, Chuck: These are my current nicknames. Mommy also sometimes turns "Nuggets" into "Nuggies" when she's talking to me. Luckily she can't really understand catspeak, because I've got some nicknames for her! MOL!

And yes, if you've read Lucy's recent diary, you will have learned that I continue to nip my mommy. Here's the reason, even though I call her Mommy, I actually think of her more like a sister. And as we all know, sisters are fair game for nipping!

Charlie

Look what my mommy did! She's not very creative so this was the best caption she could come up with:

Check me out!

Yeah. I'm pretty awesome.

*Whispering from our dark, anti-social house*

Hey friends! I hope you all are having a safe Halloween! I am happy to report that we are NOT celebrating Halloween at our house! The lights are off and we are being very, very quiet in hopes that all children and others will stay away!

Why? After all my Mommy is a child therapist, she adores kids, and she thinks they are awfully cute on Halloween. But after years of Halloween chaos, Mommy finally said, "No more!"

Where she grew up in Iowa, there were lots of publicized Halloween "Rules". Trick-or-treating was to occur only during certain hours (5 pm to 8 pm), children knew not to approach homes/doors unless they had lights on, etc. Here in Arizona, there don't seem to be ANY rules! Kids come at all hours (we've had trick or treaters as late as Midnight!), they ring every doorbell whether or not the porch light is on, and it's SO unsafe!

Two years in a row, we had nearly 300 trick or treaters. Mom had to go back to the store for more candy and she spent a million dollars (that could have gone to buying us a new cat tree!). One year, Mommy had to run out to help a friend with a car problem. She left the bowl of candy on the doorstep with a sign asking kids to just take one piece of candy. She knew that was silly and very unlikely but what she didn't expect was that not only did all the candy disappear, someone stole our bowl, too! Our neighborhood stinks.

Plus, we have the scary neighbor and Mom would hate to have him near our open front door in a costume if she didn't recognize him.

Whatever, I think this is the perfect night to keep the lights off and the door closed! Otherwise Leo might spend the next week under the bed! MOL!

Charlie

Something Special Just For Me!

Mommy got me something special today. She ran into the pet food store to quickly grab some food for Lucy and be on her way back to work. While she was waiting in line (FOREVER! So much for being quick!), she saw something near the register that she knew I would love! And I do!

I love very soft blankies and I have two big ones- one that Mommy keeps on the couch and one that she keeps on her bed. I only love my blankies when they are right next to Mommy. I love the soft blankie-Mommy combo! MOL!

I knead and suckle and go into my own little world when I'm enjoying my Mommy-soft blankie combo. Here's a video of me in my blankie bliss!

Video Evidence of Charlie and his Blankie Love!

Anyways, back to my special surprise- Mommy got me my very own monkey blankie! It's a little square blankie that is very soft (just like I prefer!) and in the middle of it is a little monkey head! It's supposedly for a little doggie? Whatever, it's cute and soft and I love it! Mommy hopes I start carrying my monkey around the house with me because, well, she thinks that would be extra cute!

feisty bonks,
Charlie

P.S. Mommy is still calling me "Puppy" AND she bought me a doggie toy! MOL! Crazy Mommy!

Seriously?

It's no secret, my mommy uses all kinds of nicknames for us. Ever evolving nicknames that often make no sense. Tonight takes the cake (or should I say catnip?).

As she walked in the front door, Leo and I ran to greet her and she said, "Hey fuzzy buckets!" Uh, what? (Mommy edit- I have no idea, it just came out!).

And then, as I was helping her with paperwork by giving and getting some lovings, she called me "Puppy" twice! Puppy?!

feisty bonks,
Charlie

P.S. I saw my girlfriend this weekend and I didn't even run upstairs when she walked in the house. I gave her kisses and tried to stick my head in her purse. I DID NOT try to nurse on her elbow because she is Newman's MRS. and he said I'm allowed to kiss her but NO elbow sucking!

So I kissed her :)

On my way to a full fledged mancat dreamboat

Mommy says I'm on my way to full fledged mancat dreamboat status. It's not just because of my handsome good looks (check out my new profile photo but be careful, girlcats and mommies may swoon!) and my awesome athletic abilities.

Nope, I'm growing into a mancat because after two and a half years, I've finally decided that I like getting loves from my mommy, especially on the right side of my neck, just behind my ear. Sure, if Mommy pets for too long or talks to me too much, I'll give her a love nip, but mostly I like the loving! I even turn my head so that she knows exactly where I want her to give me scritches.

I'm on Samoa's offical Dreamboat-in-Training list (Dreamboat-in-Training #3) and I'm hoping that I'll finally make the full-fledged Dreamboat list this year! It can't hurt that Samoa's mommy is my girlfriend and I like to give her kisses! MOL!

Lots of girlcats and mommies swoon over my floofy brother Leo's good looks and heart-shaped nose but I'm a handsome boy, too! And I'll tell you a secret: *whispers* every night I snuggle and spoon with my mommy all night. If she gets up in the middle of the night to use the litterbox, I cry until she comes back and snuggles with me! Charlie Lovebug!

feisty bonks,
Charlie

How RUDE

I think I've mentioned before that my mommy uses all kinds of ridiculous nicknames for me, Leo, and Lucy. They are all said with love (of course!) but they are kind of ridiculous. Mommy has started calling me "Chuck", "Chuck Nuggets", and "Nuggets" in addition to her habit of adding the word "Stink" or "Stinky" to my nicknames and Leo's nicknames (and Lucy, too!).

Well today, Mommy's nickname ridiculousness crossed the line! She was hanging out with some Catster kitties today (and their Mawmee/Mrs.). Inky was flirting with her, rolling on his back and bonking the floor and then moving before my mommy could love on his floofy belly, only to start the rubbing, bonking flirty business again from a few feet away!

When he moved away from Mommy, guess what she said? "Awww, Stinky!" That's right, friends, she called someone else's kitty "Stinky!" MOL! Rude Mommy!

feisty bonks,
Charlie

P.S. Inky is NOT stinky! Don't worry, Inky, I'll give her toes a serious feisty smacky paw tonight right after she falls asleep!

Reasons why I'd be an awesome pirate.

My pal Captain Dread Zaxery Drake is looking for the "Craziest, most ruthless tom-cats" to join his pirate crew. He is accepting applications in his diary. I think I'd be a good pirate and including some photo evidence of my pirate-potential in my application.

I will make a crazy, ruthless, GREAT pirate for the following reasons:

I have a HUGE mancat shadow! It will scare away pirates, mousies, girlcats, etc.

I can FLY.

I have HUGE paws and sharp, feisty claws!

I am an awesome dancer and I know a pirate jig!

And finally,

I am a ninja. Seriously. A mancat ninja.

You know you want me on your crew. MOL.

feisty and full of pirate potential bonks,
Charlie

Who? What? Why? or Hovering Mommy is Back

August 31st 2011 8:14 pm

Since I'm the feisty mancat of the house, I'm going to share this little bit of ick. Our mommy has turned into a hovering Mommy this evening. Why?

Mommy was walking through the hallway when she found a fairly fresh, dime-sized drip of...something. Not sure what it was but it looked a little like a bit of snot mixed with blood (no odor). Mommy immediately began inspecting every inch of me, Leo, and Lucy, and every inch of the house. She didn't find a single drip of this something anywhere, not even in our litterboxes.

Lucy, Leo, and I all looked good- nothing coming out of our noses, mouths, ears, or bottom/private areas. Mommy has NO CLUE who this came from, what it was, or why it happened. We were all playing with Mommy right before she found this, she's seen each of us drink and eat today, and all litterbox happenings seemed normal. But Mommy worries; maybe it was Lucy and an allergy problem? Leo and an owie? Or me and a re-occurance of urinary problems? But there are no other signs!

Mommy is perplexed, maybe this is nothing, doesn't seem to be a big issue, just one dime-sized drip of "something". Whatever it is, it has caused Hovering Mommy to emerge after a nice, long vacation from hovering! Hmmm, we'll keep you updated on the random ick!

feisty bonks,
Charlie
