As part of a series of Earth Day giveaways this month, this week we’re giving away handmade cat toys from darn!Socks.
This is not the usual cheezy made-in-China crap. darn!Socks are old holey socks reincarnated as adorable catnip-filled mice. Theyre filled with a generous teaspoon of organic catnip, a small sheet of recycled crinkly plastic, 3 or 4 pistachio shells (for that perfect bone crunching sound), and recycled wool sweater lint. So, they’re not only green, but they have only the teeniest, tiniest carbon pawprint.
And darn!socks are not wimpy cat toys that disintegrate when the play gets tough. They can stand up to the most rambunctious of bunny kicks. Measuring 5 to 7 inches long (not including their shoelace tails) and 4 to 6 inches around their middles, they’re not dinky either!
All you kittehs will love the texture as well as all that catnippy goodness.
Or, get your catnip high playing with a set of three blind mice:
These cute toys are just the right size to fit in your mouth so that you can carry them around the house hollering about your stellar hunting skills. They’ve got organic catnip rolled inside for extra oomph. These are purrfect for tossing in the air or drowning in your water dish.
As Skeezix would say, they’re K-Y-O-O-T: Kyoot!
Three lucky winners will have their choice of a darn!Socks mouse toy, or a set of Three Blind Mice.
Any cat on the planet can enter. Only one entry per household, please.
Go to the darn!Socks store and take a look at the DarnSocks toys and the Three Blind Mice sets. Then come back here and leave a comment telling us which you’ll pick if you win … and why you deserve to win!
Leave your comment before 11:59pm on Sunday, April 25th 2010 to be entered in the drawing.
Winners will be drawn from random from all eligible entries using random.org, and announced on Monday, April 26th.
Good luck, kittehs!
