I came across this adorable black cat sock doll online by Frog Prince Paperie blogger Paula Biggs. It’s easy to make for the perfect touch of fun to your Halloween décor.
What you’ll need:
- Black sock
- Poly-fill
- Needle
- Glue gun
- Buttons
- Pink felt
- Ribbon for cat’s neck
- Black and white thread
Instructions:
- Flatten out the sock so the heel is on the back. Then cut the sock in an arc that points down to the toe of the sock. Leave some big, pointy ears!
- Take a good-sized handful of poly-fill and stuff it into the toe of the sock. Try to make a fairly firm ball. This will be the cat’s tummy. Once that’s stuffed, push in another ball of poly-fill to make the head. Once those are done, push the poly-fill around a bit until you have a pretty defined head and tummy area.
- Starting with the point of one ear and working toward the other, use a quick whip stitch across the top of the stuffed sock with black thread.
- Tie a bow with ribbon around the neck, and use the glue gun to stick on two button eyes. Cut a triangle out of the pink felt for the nose, and glue it on. Use white thread to stitch on whiskers and a mouth.

I’m interested in making the Halloween sock cat. What does cut in an arc mean?
Hi there —
Cut it into a “crescent” shape.
