Let’s be honest: It is very easy to make unsympathetic jokes about the stereotypical lifestyle of a cat. Sleep for 18 hours a day! Expend vital energy strolling to the kitchen to feast on food! Nap! Decide some sort of snack is in order! Nap again! Look cute! And so forth.
But in fairness to our feline friends, life for a cat is not always an endless loop of leisurely fun and relaxing games. In fact, the cold and cruel harshness of day-to-day existence is something that kittens learn at an early age — as this hard-hitting look at the Kitten Problems hashtag on Instagram proves.
Ain’t no sunshine
Our fluffy feline friend here is on the verge of tears after realizing that there will be no sunbeam to snooze in today.
Pick and chose
This calico is absolutely mortified that she has to sort through her own kibble, painstakingly picking out the pieces she does not like from her bowl.
What attempts to go up …
“You mean there’s no elevator?” This froufrou Persian has suddenly been hit with the realization that she’s going to have to actually expend energy climbing up the stairs.
… must also at least consider coming down
“If I just hang out up here long enough someone will come by and lift me back down to the floor, right? I mean surely that’s how it works?”
A closed door is nothing less than psychological and physical torture. Oh, the horror!
The blame game
Honestly, it’s as if no one even bothered to adequately kitten-proof this house!
You can’t beat the system
When you discover that life is full of nothing more than heinous tricks and traps, all that’s left to do is snooze.
Learning to be a financially responsible young kitty is such complicated work — especially when you’re dealing with overseas currency.
Might as well give up …
Some days it is just all too much to deal with. In those cases, take inspiration from this tabby tyke who is reacting in the best way he knows how.
