How to Name Your Cat

Now that you’ve had a chance to read through these “S” names, we’ll give you a few tips on naming your cat.

First, you can use your cat’s appearance for inspiration. Their size, shape, color, or pattern can all lead you to an appropriate name.

Second, consider your cat’s unique personality or any funny little quirks that can lead to a fun name. Sometimes people like to go ironic, like calling their large cat “Squirt” and their tiny cat “Supersize.” Finally, turn to your favorite artists, movies, books, etc. If you’re a big Harry Styles fan, “Styles” can make a great name for a cat!

Once you feel like you’ve narrowed the names down to two or three, try saying them aloud multiple times. It should roll off the tongue easily—if the name feels clunky when you say it, keep looking.

Remember that your cat might be with you for at least 10 years, possibly even 20, so you should be happy with and not embarrassed about the name that you’ve chosen.

Also, consider adding a title to your cat’s name; Sir Snowflake or Dame Scully has a nice ring!

  • Baron
  • Baroness
  • Colonel
  • Dame
  • Doctor
  • Emperor
  • Empress
  • General
  • Her Majesty
  • His Majesty
  • King
  • Madame
  • Miss
  • Mister
  • Prince
  • Princess
  • Professor
  • Queen
  • Senator
  • Sergeant
  • Sir

Conclusion

Finding the right name for your cat might be a challenge, but usually, instincts will come into play, and you’ll know it when you hear it.

Sometimes, the name that seems perfect might need to be changed once you’ve started to get to know your new cat better. That’s fine! Your cat can easily adjust to a new name.

We hope that one of these names is perfect for your new cat, or at the very least, you’ve been inspired and will eventually find the best name for your fluffy feline.
