SkratchKabin, the Clawable Cat House, is on Our Wish Lists

The innovative SkratchKabin does triple duty: It's a scratching pad, a hideaway, and a feline shrine.

In the tiny boxes that pass for apartments these days, having a proper scratching post and kitty hideaway can take up an awful lot of real estate. And yet Fluffy deserves a dedicated place to sleep that's all her own -- and you deserve a device to protect your furniture from claw carnage.

Well, here's an ingenious, space-saving contraption: The SkratchKabin, a mod kitty sleep-pod that also serves as a scratching surface, for one-stop napping and clawing. Sheathed in an irresistible textured material, it gives Fluffy a private place to rest after giving her claws a good workout. (As always, encourage her to apply her claws there by rubbing some quality catnip on the textured area.) Plus, it's decoratively designed to resemble an abstract cat, so it doubles as a worthy feline shrine.

The SkratchKabin is available in three colors, and comes rigged with a machine-washable cushion. For those playful periods between scratching and sleeping, the opening to the pod features a toy hanger from which to hang your feline hunter's fave sisal mouse.
